The second costume I ever made was of Mae West because my sister thought it would be hilarious if we were blonde bombshells for Halloween (we’re both very dark haired, half-Asian women).
If you are not familiar with the fabulous Mae, she was the originator of "Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" She has a ton of fabulously suggestive and irreverent quotes ("Marriage is a fine institution, but I'm not ready for the institution"), you should google her sometime. :)
Full of sass and sexiness, she managed to adroitly circumvent the massive censorship at the time by becoming an expert in the art of double-talk.

Belly Dance style Wonder Woman Costume

Here's the first belly dance costume I made (though I made several other costumes before this.)
I hand dyed the blue-with-white-stars silk (it was pure white before) and some of the red material as well. The silk veil is also made & hand-dyed by me.
The only part of the costume not made by me is the pants (under the blue skirt and the red skirt) and the wig (It’s very similar to my hair color).
I also got blue contacts for the costume (not that you can tell in any of the pics), so here is a close-up so you can actually see them.

Pics of my clothing/costumes

For a bit, instead of posting sets of my photography, I'll be posting sets of my clothing and costume creations/designs. This is new for me because this will be the first time I'm actually showing all of you what I look like (well, some of you know me IRL, but besides those people ^~). I have to admit, it makes me a bit nervous to post something where I'm on this side of the camera. ^^;
I hope you like the pics and the designs. ^_^
First up are three photos of an outfit (and make-up, accessories, & boots) that is the most "me" out of the photos I'll be posting. Well, they're fancy me, not everyday me. I don't bother with that much effort
