The Great Tower of Skye - opened up! Full-view, a must!
A cross-section of [link] .

I'll file this in with the other Lanthrish Locales of my gallery.

There was a lot of exploration and a bit of problem-solving for this one. I stayed with it for the better part of seven days I believe - well, at least 2 hours a day....
I could take you on a detailed tour, but I'll just give the basics - the short tour if you will.

Starting deep in the stone roots of the tower there is what appears to be a cistern on the left. It is connected to a chamber- not easily accessible. It is gated underwater, buried, chained and locked by piles of stone and a great slab, hardly moveable. There's a secret entombed there, and I cannot divulge that information.
Above this are the catacombs of the kings, and a stairway leading off to the right to the gorge, where a refuge is located for times of distress.
Above the tunnel leading away to the right is a nasty little place dubbed a "gong chamber". In the middle-ages, there was a pit where all the poop and waste from the castle plopped into. The poor souls appointed the task were actually called gong farmers.....
The first actual level contains the grand foyer and stairs leading to the throne hall. Also on the first level be the servants' quarters and kitchen - complete with the first ever Lanthrish distillery - a combined effort of the Lanthrish humans and Lanthrish dwarves.
A stairway from the kitchen leads up to the throne hall. This hall is large, grand, domed and contains a giant fire-pit, many a table, a balcony that nearly encircles the whole hall - musicians play a lot here...., there is also a secluded meeting area behind the throne columns - complete with large tapestries.
The staircase at the front of the throne hall - left on the illo - lead to the "municiple and living areas". There is a dwarf-engineered elevator here which runs on steam.....
This level, just above the throne hall contains the living quarters of scribes, clergy and the king's chamberlain.
The next level, a great library. On the outer areas of this level are private rooms for guests.
The fifth level is all soldiery. Two decked living quarters, with a third deck for storage. The commander has his own quarters forward of this level.
The level above this be the living quarters of king and family.
The seventh level, considerably shorter than the rest, is multi-columned and windowed - a guard area with many a nook for archers. The last living quarters are that of the king and his queen - when not spending time with the family.
Before reaching the rooftop level, the spiral stair column -which runs the length of the tower from first level to roof - leads to various tunnels that take more archers to exterior rooms from whence many an arrow can be loosed upon invaders.
The rooftop, the finale! Here be located the coronation chapel, trebuchets and mangonels, the chimney house - complete with exhaust fans powered by a windmill - variuous supplies for construction, fire, and siege. Last, and not least, the great roaring lions - the tower horns! Low bellowing brass horns encased in three bronze lion mouths. The horns are so large that they are operated (played) by great mechanical bellows, another great dwarvish gift.

Feel free to look around and enjoy the place. If you have any questions, my name is David, and I'll be happy to help! :)
