So is it just me or did they seriously remove the "View Image" button?
Seriously WTH Google?
Before, if I just wanted to see the picture I'd click the View Image button on the row of buttons, or just click the image itself. If I wanted to see the web page for more info I'd clicked the View Page, or in this case Visit.
Now I have to either visit the page and try looking for the image, or right click the image and "Open Image on New Tab"
It's one of these stupid unnecessary things that take a bit getting used to, like when Firefox moved the reloading button from the right to the left corner, it's strangely how irritating such a small thing can be.
Ah, so it's not just me and my browser being weird. It's gone for everyone.
Yes, it was removed to help discourage the using of images without permission. Though as you have noticed, right-clicking the image and choosing to "open image in a new tab" has the same effect that the old View Image button had anyway.
yeah but it still feels like a pain in the ass to do
Well, to be fair, pressing the "view image" button was one click. Now, right-clicking the image and then clicking "open image in a new tab" is two clicks. It's just one extra click so it's not really consuming much more time than it did before or requiring a great deal more effort.
Ayup. It's gone all right.
