Oh my. I haven't visited your page in a while, this really jumped out at me. I'm a sucker for typography - this is gorgeous. In terms of critique...There's not much to say, the tonal variations are well placed to create a pattern-like effect, the composition feels balanced without being too symmetrical...I'm impressed with how you used the serifs to sort of spiral the eye around. It's great the way it is - I think to make it brilliant, you might add that little extra oomph of interest by maybe having some BARELY legible message somewhere in there. I find when I'm looking at it I try to pick out letters, and it would be really interesting to actually find something after a while - but you know, one of those things where I'm not quite sure if I'm reading something or not? If any of that makes sense, just what came to mind while I was looking at it. Either way, fantastic work.
fuckn awesome. Your typography is matched by none. makes me quite jealous sometimes. makes me breathe heavy too. your manipulation of lettering, texture, and color makes me want to cry, because I'll never be as good as you in something I love.
My goodness!
I've never seen typography done in such a style!
I find it quite amazing!
May I ask which program(s) you used to compile?
I've done the odd piece where I process the main image in PS, then bring it into In-Design to add some fancy type action (mainly to get my hands on some glyphs), then I export as PDF, then open that PDF in PS to save it as a JPG... or of course work some more areas.
I wonder what would happen if you selected all and changed the font...
Or if you're using In-Design, change up some character styles!
Haha...
I find this piece inspirational.
I'm impressed!
i just used photoshop 7, though i probably should have done it in illustrator or indesign. that sounds like a pretty complex work process, the PS->InDesign->S, heh, but i guess i haven't explored indesign as much.
Do you know how to get the Glyphs happening in Photoshop?
I don't, so it would be cool if you know and can pass that on if you do know!
Yeah, it would be challenging to do what you've accomplished using In-Design instead.
I mention In-Design because as far as I'm concerned you're freakin' awesome at the type action, so I assumed that you used In-Design because of the way it handles fonts and such - much better than PS and Ill.
Either way, keep on conquering!
Look forward to seeing your next type rampage!
That is awesome. It definately looks like the castle from the Dark Crystal. It would be a cool to see a whole series of Dark Crystal inspired work, though I'm sure that would take a lot of work.
very cool!
keep up the typ work by all means........
I mean, I've seen word art before, but this has just got a "Aaah letters are building their own cities" feel to it ^_^
