Have you tried close up filters? I started with one underwater. I didnt have much depth of field but they arent expensive and they get you in close to your subjects.

Gorgeous gallery! The quality of your photos is beautiful, always crisp and with a natural yet vibrant look. I enjoy the variety of the subjects, ranging from massive species and scenery to delicate close ups of small organisms.
