The city was so much larger than anything her eyes had ever found before. The buildings rose like mountains before her and, unlike the old buildings of her town, these were made of dark bricks and stone. There was something cold about the city, downright unnatural that hung about like a bad omen. She tried not to judge from the looks alone but that heavy air was making it hard for her to notice much else. She glanced back to her father then as he steered their wagon through the crowded streets.
