Kae's hope that the voyage north would take a few days was quickly dashed. Days turned into a week and a single week into several. The white stallion lost most of his coat with only a little big of shag left to cling to his underbelly. He was disappointed to say the least but there was very little he could do about it. Blood Belly, of course, found his massive shedding hilarious. For days the hair fell out in chunks, leaving a very clear trail through the tall grass for the dragon to find when he lost track of him.

It was rare that Blood Belly ever did take his eyes off Kae. He would slip away from time to time to eat but since Kae was trying to keep the lake in sight he never flew far. Blood Belly was loving the change of climate, finding the lake more than plentiful and chalked full of delectable fish. He suspected he was the only one enjoying the change of scenery since Kae did seem pretty determined to find this temple.

His wandering lead then south, the lake always on his right as the stallion took note of the change in scenery. Temperate grassland and sandy shores were slowly changing to more muddy shores and thick foliage. The air even seemed to grow heavier and not because the rain was getting more and more frequent. The landscape was changing and Kae felt like they were on the right path. He had nothing to go on but his instinct and the vision which often replayed as a dream for him when he slept.

Of course, the less romantic part of the vision was always haunting him. The hissing of the crocs and image of crushed eggs all over. They were looking for nest and he truly hoped that Blood Belly wasn't spouting lies when he spoke of fending them off. He had only caught glimpses of those monsters when he dared to drink from the lake and had no interest in tangling with them. All the perks that the warm weather had, those creatures were certainly a negative. Nothing like that lurked in his snowy paradise. Sure they had Howlers and Bears but really, what was worse here?

The day was starting to near its end and he knew they only had a few hours left of light to travel by. The shifting light wasn't of much interest until a large shadow moved over him. Kae rolled his eyes since he knew good and well could only be one thing. He could hear the dragon snickering a little over head, something about casting his shadow always amusing to him. He did look up, shaking his head at the dragon before focusing back on the trail ahead. Each step meant a little less time in this swamp land and he couldn't wait to start the journey home.

Kae continues looking for his temple, all hopes of this trip being brief leaving his mind. BB just continues to enjoy his summer vacation by gorging on fish and casting shadows on Kae. Such boys. X3

As you happily graze you happen to notice a small rumbling in the earth. As you lift your head your ears pick up a faint drumming which seems to be growing closer. Primed and ready for danger you brace yourself for whatever approaches only to discover it’s a plucky young colt! His horn is just starting to come in and he wears a shy smile. ‘Ohh, sorry there. I didn’t mean to startle you.’ He laughs weakly. ‘I caught your scent and had to see for myself. Any chance you or any of your herd would be up for a friendly spar? I’m trying to practice my moves!’

  1. What a sweet fella! You’d love to give him a friendly sparring match!  (Choose a herd member to spar and combat will begin. First to receive a minor injury loses)

  2. What a sucker, you accept his match but plan on teaching this colt a lesson (Choose a herd member to ‘spar’ and combat will begin.)

  3. Gently turn the colt down. You’re a herd of lovers! Not fighters!
