Demiboy (1)

Demigender (from demi "half" + "gender") is an umbrella term for nonbinary gender identities that have a partial connection to a certain gender. This includes the partly female identity demigirl, and the partly male identity demiboy. There are other partial genders using the "demi-" prefix for the same reasons. The “other part” may or may not be known.

I am an adult. Why would I call myself boy or girl?
Penn251's avatar

That's my biggest problem with these, too. I suppose one could say "demiman" but that sounds a bit odd (maybe just because it isn't in common usage)

Well I do call myself paraman, from paragender. I don't really care about acknowledgement from the community. But I just am curious why they insist on boy and girl on so many occasions in the first place.

paraman sounds so fancy!! I like :)

Paraman sounds pretty cool. But yeah, I wonder about that myself. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that a lot of the people who are coining new genders are young, and so they identify with the terms "boy" and "girl" more than those of us who are older?

I was asking around on twitter but nobody seems to know. Just do it! If you like to be a demiboy but don't like the name: change it. Who cares? It is about you, not about being one of the cool kids at the queer space.

You make a really good point. Thanks! I'm still deciding for sure if it's the right label for me, but you're right. I can modify it to fit me if I want to. After all, labels, at least for me, are more about me understanding myself than getting others to understand, because there will always be people who don't understand it anyway.

I wish someone made a flag for people that identify as both a demigirl and demiboy (Like me :))

This one might work for you:

Do you guys have like a masculine trans/agender or demiboy flux flag? ;w;
Penn251's avatar

I know this is old, but I thought I might be able to help. I didn't find a demiboy flux flag, but I did find an agender boy one

Agender Boy

Ikr what is all this bullshit?
There's a whole folder on OPs profile that's labeled "Genders" and there's over a thousand flags in there
This is insanity

Wouldn't it be better if "boy" was no longer associated with blue to break gender roles/norms?
The bullying and toxicity surrounding "pink means girl" is still strong in many countries today.

But if they put another colors they can “hey that flag means another thing” because I’m the flags of LGTBQ+ one color means one thing, if I put the green color. What I gonna have?
a flag that is semi identical to a genders flag
