I had several inspirations for this illustration.
I wanted to make a piece partly inspired by the old 1950s pin up art and the warplane nose art of the 1940's. Im also a big fan of retro futuristic genre (Blade Runner,Dark City, Brazil) and anything that has an old Flash Gordon style.

As for the girl in the image, she was partly inspired by the old 1960's -70's sci-fi/horror film actress Caroline Munro.

You really achieved everything you wanted to put in that picture, that is amazing... There is something that reminds me the emotion I have with Frazetta, maybe the sexy darkness.
