Handmade Wand ''Nora''

Wand number 17 [NS-844I]! This one has been in the works for about a month now, and I only got around to finishing it recently because schoolwork fills most of my weekends.
Total time: about 11 hours. Length is 10 3/4".
I've wanted to do an "ebony" wand for a long time, simply because I could just ink the whole thing black. I also got blue ribbon, so I've used it with this box. There's a small running leaf design on the handle, but it's difficult to see in this picture. When I upload the closeup it will be easier to see.

Which wood did you use for it?
The carves make it look like a ribbon is wrapped around the wand <3
