Ah. The beauty and the fool. He sits firmly on a root while she leans against a tree to keep her balance. His back is turned away from the golden sun and all the beauty denied him. Much symbolism here. I adore this.

I must admit there was more instinct than deliberation when I did this, but it all just seemed to hang together - I appreciate the comment :)

I love the shapes of the trees~
that's what I love about most of your paintings, actually. :3
The atmosphere in this is so strange! All the subtle colors.. very nice. I like the sort of tilted composition, too.

I like to try and give things some life force (I know that sounds corny) as if they might move if prompted.
The atmosphere hopefully is a little dreamlike and contemplative - there's a play off between the figures as well - one is creative and one is curious (imagine a moth and a flame)

Wow.

I love your way of painting nature. Especially forests and trees. Could fave 'em all. :D

But this one is awesome! It feels so familiar. If there had not been those two figures this could actually be one specific forest in my fantasy world "Meyelor". This is exactly how I imagine the place. I hope I'll be able to render some views of Meyelor that look at least half as wonderful as your art! LOVE it!

What a lovely response!:) I'm so pleased it has struck a chord with you - I had an idea for this in my head and just started drawing until it looked right. The figures sort of represent contentment and curiousity, which in turn represents how I feel about forests and trees.
Thank you!

I love this. The colors are beautiful, this reminds me of something I have on deviant, but mine isn't nearly as beautiful. Great work!

My hat's off to you! I come from a long line of do it yourselfers and this a tonic for my eyes. I have a beat up old 5 string (plays OK) I just have to improve my skill and bank balance before I start looking at something better (I would love a Deering banjo) - I like your gallery too!
