The Phantom of the Opera by PossessedSquirrel The Phantom of the Opera by PossessedSquirrel
The Phantom of the Opera - Sing, My Angel of Music

Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you
Open up your mind
Let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness that you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night

Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be
Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation
Let the dream begin
Let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night

Sing my angel of music
Sing my angel
Sing for me

I hope everyone will get a chance to go and see this amazing film. This might become a series, for it is one of the most musically and visually inspiring movies I have seen in my lifetime.

In sleep he sang to me
in dreams he came...
that voice which calls to me
and speaks my name

And do I dream again?
For now I find
the Phantom of the Opera is there-
inside my mind...

Sing once again with me
our strange duet...
My power over you
grows stronger yet...

And though you turn from me,
to glance behind,
the Phantom of the Opera is there-
inside your mind...

Those who have seen your face
draw back in fear...
I am the mask you wear...

It's me they hear...

Your/my spirit and my/your voice,
in one combined:
the Phantom of the Opera is there-
inside your/my mind...

He's there, the Phantom of the Opera...
Beware the Phantom of the Opera...

In all your fantasies,
you always knew
that man and mystery...

...were both in you...

And in this labyrinth,
where night is blind,
the Phantom of the Opera is there/here-
inside your/my mind...

He's there the Phantom of the Opera
Sing, Sing my Angel of music, sing, Sing For Me!

this piece reminds me of Christine's first performance in the book, and she sings her soul out to her angel and faints...LOVELOVELOVE it!

Amazing work! Christine is consumed by her passions and by the knowledge and presence of her "teacher" who lurks in the shadows and lives deep beneath the opera house. The ecstasy of her "possession" comes through so clearly on her face in this piece. She is floating...she is falling... I can SEE what's going through her mind.

You mentioned this may be part of a series. I think that is a wonderful idea and would love to see it come to fruition!

"Open up your mind... Let your fantasies unwind..." Many of us are waiting to see what comes next!

lesserknowncallsign Featured By Owner May 10, 2005  Hobbyist General Artist yummy. I love the richness of the colours, and the contrast to her skin. Plus...anything Phantom is just inexplicably sexy (possibly lurking Scottish accent). Anyway, you should do more. is always good to do more.

I totally want to join the "Rera Street-Team" This is so good that I got my mom and my sister and made them look at it....they love it too just for the record! AH it is so good that i dont even want to try to put it into words.

If you havnt seen the movie yet then dont read the following:
did anyone else think that she totally should have picked the phantom over Mr. Pretty-Shiny-Hair-Glistening-In-The-Sun- Light-Dude? He annoyed me....and the Phantom was awsome, if i were her i would totally choose the Phantom and said "screw you" to that idiot.
PossessedSquirrel Featured By Owner Apr 6, 2005
Oh yea, I saw it. And yes I totally agree that she should of gone with the Phantom. He was so much cooler and had wooshy capes and the coolest pad ever.

Randomly while listening to the soundtrack I'd shake my head and whimper "I really hate Raoul"

i lvoe you, squirrel. i love you lots.
btw go buy the full soundtrack from the movie, its worth the extra 5 bucks. mmmm
PossessedSquirrel Featured By Owner Dec 29, 2004
Oh yea, I got it the day after I saw the movie. I had to borrow $10 from my boss, and then I claimed I had to go to the bathroom so I could go get it because I was paranoid they'd run out or my co-worker would get it before me. But I did get the special edition, because I had to have every song. Bwahaha. I love the Phantom, The Point of No Return is the best...

Long time no... communicating over the internet. Hope you had a good holiday.
Naikuu Featured By Owner Dec 30, 2004
point of no return is awesome, its one of my favorites, but my latest addiction has been .. well, basically disc 2 songs 3-10 (especially song 3, that violin thing right after she says "to my father's grave...")
ooooh myyy gaawsh and then everytime that little melody repeats, like in don juan, etc... it melts me. it meeelts me.
and emmy's voice on wishing you were somehow here again is just WOW
PossessedSquirrel Featured By Owner Dec 30, 2004
Oh yea, the orchestration is so amazing on the film...very powerful. I love it in #3 when she's singing the Phantom of the Opera song again but in a higher key... it's so lovely. Guh... just talking about it gets me so excited. I love how they manage to use a few songs, throughout the movie over and over again and still make it so different and beautiful. I remember in the theatre when I saw it the first time, getting so excited when I heard the doomy Phantom song boom out at everyone. They layer the music so much in this film... oh god... I can't keep talking... I must go listen to the CD.

Very nicely done. I like the way you converged multiple pictures into her dress...

It seems like her flesh is very empty, though. Maybe that's what you intended, but I think it could be sharpened up or something.

Great grunge style, though. Looks gorgeous.
Vampiric13 Featured By Owner Dec 28, 2004
very have definently improved with the last few deviations of yours..i am impressed..i really like the textures you used, but the texture on the skirt makes it look somewhat choppy to me:shrug:
i have never seen the movie...i heard it is supposed to be good..i guess i will have to see it sometime.

Ok enough of that. This is so amazing. AMAZING. Yet again a piece that is SO deserving a DD. Shit. Ok I've been sitting here trying to think of something to say, but I'm not sure I can. GOD. Everything is so perfect. Your past few pieces have just been filled with so much sybolism. It is so cool. I loooove the textures in this! Ahhhhhhh! It really reminds me of when he sings "this loathsome
gargoyle, who burns in hell, but secretly yearns for heaven, secretly... " and then I think he says something in the end about being the angel in hell. Lalala.

God. This is so haunting. I can like hear the echoes of her singing. Gives me shiversss. Ahhhhhhh. God your art is so inspiring for me. Eww. That was mushy. Shut the hell up. But it is. Some of the most inspiring art I've seen. Why can't everyone see this? There is a bunch of shit (yeah, I'm not going to hide how I feel) on the front page everyday. Why can't this be up there? It's starting to piss me off. I mean your last piece was too amazing to get only like, what, 15 favs? You are really now one of those unknown, underappreciated artists that make me angry. I want your art to get the attention it deserves. Here and now I am starting the Rera Street-team. To promote the Rera.
