Just received news today that I have won 'Portrait and Figure Artist of the Year' in the annual SAA - Society for All Artists: http://www.saa.co.uk/ - competition. Very pleased that 'In the Gloaming' has been chosen in this category, as well as 'Firelight' being chosen as the piece for Professional Artist of the Year! :thumb355004893:

Hi! Thank you very much for the watch C:
You're welcome!
Your pastel work is so fantastic - just love it. Esp. the older faces have so much character!
Thank you, I'm very much drawn to faces with character and life experience, but still with lively eyes. Some of the later ones are in oils
Thanks again
Margaret
Very welcome. I esp. love your pastels, as I do myself a bit pastel painting.
I had a look, lovely work! You have a talent for the medium

Spent many hours in the national Galleries in Edinburgh this summer. Was unmoved and unimpressed by a great many of the formal paintings (90%) on show since they were specific to their time and in a sense, meaningless to anyone other than a historian or technically minded art student, awe of status is not one of my failings. I then happen upon your work on the internet, self taught versus academician, you win hands down. :D (Big Grin)
