My kelpie story is finished, but you should have a go at one of your own. There are many versions of the waterhorse myth.

Read your comic and enjoyed it.
Today i watched a video comic edition. Link: click here

As I watched I thought about what if the man in the story were to have told the tale.

Here is what i wrote and wanted to show you.  The comic is wonderful and deep (literally)

I am a sculptor by trade.
Folk asked why I only make horses instead of working in the states like other man.
I live out here to keep watch of the fields.
You can tell there is trouble through their eyes.

My best friend and I used to spend our summers here in the fields. We were warned of people disappearing for no reason. We didn't listen. One day we saw a mare. Her mane as pure and light as the clouds. So calm and content upon our approach.
Her skin soft to the touch. My freind mounted her as I stroked her neck. with a boost, my friend was on.
I was unsure about all this, I resumed brushing the neck when the skin started to deteriorate into this dark sap!

The dead look in the horses eyes struck both of us to the dire situation we found ourselves in. Her fair skin shed and her once luscious mane are all but wisps on this black mass. Our fates are but sealed as the monsters heads to the water. My friend was horrified. We were told of the beasts that drown weary travelers. My only hope was cutting myself free. The thought was nothing in comparison the pain as my mind fought to evade the idea.

It had to be done.

The waters were icy cold and dark. Light flickers faintly. I came free and started float ting the top. The little breath I had left me no choice to help my friend. The whole time this took place my friend was at it's mercy, looking up to me with fear and sorrow. I broke through the surface coughing and in tears.

That day I not only learned a painful lesson, a harsh reality but lost a friend.

The day following in the hospital was nothing short of torture. Questions were asked. People called me a lair when I told what happened.
It was a loss case.

I returned to the marsh hoping I'd see something.
Find closure.
A sign.
Perhaps a warning.

I made a large sculpture there out of wood and twigs My friend and I used to play with.
I kept it up to this day and plan on continuing to do till folks would stop coming the fields and stay away from the waters!
