I don't think I've felt any better in my life than right now. Team Gaijin Alex has again rebounded from inactivity, and we're going stronger than ever before!
Yesterday, 15 January 2015, from roughly 3-6pm central, we were streaming game production and worked our asses off practically nonstop. Spaztique
has his own recap on his blog
, but it doesn't quite cover the scope of what we've done, hence this journal that hardly anyone is gonna read, much less care about.
...Yeah, that's pretty much the only negative part about the stream. Hardly anyone attended. Even though we're making a friggin' Touhou fangame here.
*Ahem* Anyway... Spaz nearly got the Stage 3 theme all done. He could have finished it, but he decided to give it some time so he can re-listen to it with a fresh mind. As a result, he's also begun work on the boss theme of the same stage. Simultaneously, FullHitPoints
and I tinkered with the code. We fixed a few bugs here and there, moved some textures from sprites to backgrounds (with a surprising lack of yelling at the engine on Aaron's part), and changed Alice's laser texture. That last part was pretty fun, especially when Aaron proceeded to try and change the shape of the texture, which ended up looking like Alice's very own Master Spark
. We originally intended to start work on the dialogue code, but unfortunately all the other stuff took a lot of time, so we'll have to do it later.
But the highlight of the evening (for me, anyway) was when, two hours in, artist ScarletImpulse
made his entry, marking the first ever time he's been on the TGA stream, as well as the first time since ages that all four of us were together in a call at the same time. Managing to work for two hours straight (with a fairly long toilet break inbetween that had... complications...), Lucas made sizable progress on the new Gale drawing up until an hour after Spaz left and took the stream with him.
And that's last night in a nutshell. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to the fantastic Michirin9801
for making a pixel drawing of Rusa
that looks absolutely gorgeous, just like the rest of her works. Seriously, check her stuff out right now.
Stay tuned for the next TGA stream at Tuesday, 27 January, 3pm central, at Spaztique Makes Stuff Live!
