Story: Alyssa was sweating profusely. She had expected to be a bit hot in her formal outfit, but she hadn't fully taken into account the seasonal differences. Here, it was summer and the sun was beating down. Black really wasn't a good choice. Suddenly, the sun became even more blinding. Her hat! Hermes looked thoroughly pleased with himself as he continued walking neatly at her side, her hat in his mouth.
"Hermes..." she grumbled quietly, "Give that back, before the judge notices!"
Alyssa reached out to grab the hat, and Hermes promptly dropped it. Alyssa's hand missed it on the way down and it landed in the sand. She sighed but decided not to stop. Hermes trod on it as they continued.
Then came a voice from behind them, "Excuse me, miss! You dropped this."
Alyssa turned bright red as she realised it was none other than the judge holding her slightly squashed hat out to her. So much for making a good impression. They could only hope the judge was half as amused with Hermes as he was with himself.
