A commission for :icongrazehunter: who wanted a picture of Officer Fluffles (on the left - a pony from 'diamond arc' of IDW comics drawn by Agnes Garbowska) having a snarky conversation about names with a random police mare he came up with for this occasion (on the right).
Thanks to VoidChicken for helping out with the exact dialogue and the title.
I also would like to know why some ponies name their foals the way they do...

The setting is Manehattan. Police mares stand in front of an enchanter's study - after all a shop with enchanted comics is canon, so enchanting services are implied to be canon.

In the background, we can see 2 OC's who belong to my Patreon supporters - Longhaul (:iconmrposslq:'s OC) being robbed, while Southern Comfort (:iconmagello:'s OC) is laughing, because she finds the imminent shanking hilarious.
You too can support me on Patreon.

MLP and its characters belong to Hasbro, OC's belong to their respective owners. |

Somehow after the movie, all this about silly names seems a lot less funny. Is it because you can't help but feel sorry for what Tempest Shadow got saddled with (pun intended) for a real name?

My personal theory involves a seer of some kind who works in the hospitals and names the children based on their destiny. It's the only way I can think of to explain why the names so often match their talents.

On another note, how the heck is a life-stealing enchantment legal?! O_o

i just guessed that there destiny is based on their name.

What's in a name also have some humor when I recall Fiddly Faddle, more funny and ridiculous than Fiddlesticks, even she herself don't appreciate that canon name.

I see that Manehattan shares at least one similarity with Ankh-Morpork.... 7@=Q

Thank goodness for Hostess* commercials, otherwise my mind would've gone straight in the toilet...

*The old Hostess, not the one selling right now (different company).
