Ah, the times when getting your wings meant you would be a princess...
Comic based on Season 8 episode 11 of MLP - "Molt Down" - if you didn't see it, now you know the main spoiler, sorry but that's how it works. And it refers to the (in)famous Princess Spike episode ;)

For all your memetic needs - I uploaded a clear template you can use  Spike Wings comic template DA 2 by Pony-Berserker

The title is a reference to the cricket-related expression "straight to silly point" when a close-in fielder on silly point position catches a ball poked towards him by the batsman.

Thanks to Middy for his suggestions.
If you translate or repost this comic, please do it outside of DA. Thanks! MLP and its characters belong to Hasbro. 3 June 2018 EQD

Oh Twilight, you're the only character who has no right to question that.

There is a criminal lack of knowledge on dragons in Equestria. Ponies don't know what their culture is like, what magic they possess, how they grow and develop. Surely this wasn't always the case and at sometime, somepony had written an extensive volume about dragons only for it to be lost over the ages. Though ponies are isolationists by nature.

In fairness, ponies and dragons have been enemies until relatively recently. Nopony's gonna risk their necks to learn about a species that they never interact with anyway; it just wasn't worth it.

I guess he IS a "Princess" now. I mean, a PRINCESS Princess, and not just a "Princess" by name, like poor Twilight. =P

Like hitting a fly ball to the short stop? :)

and here Hilton Cartwright gets hit in the nuts while fielding at silly point :P www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbP_3W… One of the YT comments says "it's called silly point for a reason" =P

But I've seen THIS kind of nutshot before:

At least he didn't play baseball like THIS:

and it can be really dangerous - here Azar Ali gets hit on the helmet and ends up in hospital after he was hit while fielding on short leg www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L9-h1…

But this is what AMERICAN baseball players have to face sometimes:

While that's tragic, AFAIK, NO American baseball player died from getting a ball to the helmet or head... a CONCUSSION, yes; but not dying.

short stop in baseball is more like mid-on in cricket. Silly point is on the opposite side and much, much, much closer to the batsman.
This is an example of silly point catch www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ct-TH…
Remember cricket players don't use gloves to catch :P

"This is an example of silly point catch www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ct-TH…"

That's like a line drive right back to the pitcher.

Sometimes they catch it:

Sometimes they DON'T:

"Remember cricket players don't use gloves to catch"

Even with gloves, THIS can sometimes happen:

In cricket it's called "caught & bowled"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJAVR3… (4 and 1 are my favorite here)

Jofra Archer once did it so nonchalantly it was hilarious - www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV9Oih…

and it gets dangerous too
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MW06D…
luckily, batsmen usually try not to hit the bowler because they can catch the ball and they can also deflect the ball onto the non-striker's wicket and dismiss him if he's out of his ground like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dFSVr… (the final example is the best when the ball hits the non-striker's bat then hits the bowler Adam Zampa straight in his face and then smashes the stumps (here in better quality: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho0fNx… )
