This picture is a commission from @MagicMan001 who returned after many years to commission yet another changeling picture from me!
Below is his commentary on the premise of the picture and what was on his mind

MagicMan001 says: I commissioned this comic to serve as an unofficial epilogue to FIENDship is Magic #5. Consider it a kind of 10th year anniversary tribute to the comic itself, as well as to Andy Price @andypriceart and Katie Cook and their contributions to MLP:FiM.

It's also my way of tying together the depiction of Chrysalis and her army in the IDW comics with that of the show in Season 6 and beyond. I basically asked myself, "Where did Chrysalis and her army go at the end of Issue 5?" With the introduction of Thorax and the Hive in Season 6, I figured, "Alright, they basically went home... after being gone for several months."

So I began brainstorming how that homecoming must've gone down. My first thought was Pharynx -- who’d been tasked with stewardship over the Hive during her absence -- being absolutely livid with his Queen not just for being gone for so long, but returning with only a lousy, stinking sofa to show for her conquest. Then my mind turned to how Ocellus' mom would've felt about her husband suddenly returning after being away for far longer than the promised, effectively leaving her to raise their hatchlings solo all this time. Then I got to thinking about Ocellus, Urtica, and ended up having to write down all my ideas before I lost track XD.

I'd like to thank Pony-Berserker himself for agreeing to take on this big project and bringing these ramblings of a mad man to life. It was truly an honour and a privilege to get to work with him again.

P-B's commentary: As far as I understand - Lightning Dust and Radiant Hope in corners of the page are a reference to other MLP comic arcs drawn by Andy Price.
It was an interesting project but also massively bigger than the stuff I usually post these days xP
