I'm a Los Angeles-based cartoonist and artist. I've drawn and published graphic novels, including the titles Ferrex and Porrex, Candlelight Master, Seven Stories, and Stratilayabout.
I also paint, and my acrylic pieces have appeared in the ArtLife Gallery in El Segundo and in the Tache Gallery in New York. I also created mixed media designs.
Creating art consists of fashioning a new world from scratch. A blank canvas represents the universe before the Big Bang. What I soon discovered was that, while art originally provided a retreat and a refuge, it also offered passage and interaction with a wider world outside of myself. Art could be a protective shell, but also a channel of communication. I could share music with seemingly soundless art pieces depicting jazz musicians, for example, or pull people into a world filled with endless cloudscapes, strange animals, and vast oceans. My acrylic colors illustrate the textures and bodies of mysterious buildings, animals, and objects.
