The Polycene (Many/Diverse age) is a speculative evolution project that takes place 49 million years in the future. The earth looks very different from how it looked in the Holocene. North america moved further north, Atlantic ocean widens, Africa collides with Europe, closing the Mediterranean, Australia collides with Southeast Asia, the Panama isthmus disappears, South America moves up north, and Antarctic slides towards the equator. The climate is relatively stable, a mix of warm, hot, and freezing cold. East Africa splits away, forming a new island continent called Eparica. Much of Europe, Asia, and the remainder of Africa is covered by forests. Grasslands and rainforests share South America, while in North America, tundra is the predominant biome. Antarctica is also now a rainforest rich island continent. The wildlife are descendants of the survivors of the Holocene, diversifying and occupying niches. This is also the ultimate fight for survival.
