It seems raising guars has been challenging and sometimes even dangerous for them (I bet one of them gave the grandfather the scar on his left cheek). But I feel like they wouldn't have it any other way.
I haven't given him a story for his scar, but that is very likely! Guars are quite ornery! (:
I bet. Heck, I help my parents raise chickens, and one of them once pecked me hard enough to draw blood. If a basketball-sized bird can do that, a guar the size of a small horse could do much worse.
