Humanoid, Chapter 4: Reshiram Only Has Two Insults

You’re   wha—   Mew broke off as we came into view of each other. Mew and two unfamiliar pokemon—, and a green one I didn’t recognize—were moving slowly inside a force bubble while Reshiram rained fire blasts down on them. I headed directly at them, trying to form an attack. I got a smaller energy ball at the end of one tentacle. As I got into range, I instinctively flicked it at Reshiram. It missed, but it got her attention.   We’re not finished yet. Reshiram wasted a moment looking back and forth between Mew and I. She couldn’t ignore me; if she concentrated on Mew, I’d be open to hit her, an

Humanoid, Chapter 3: Planning is for Mortals

We walked through the forest of the dungeon, heading for the exit Mew said should be somewhere around. Mew had led me into one other fight, but with my new offensive capabilities it hadn’t been much of a challenge. After that, he’d shifted into something large and dangerous-looking—a garchomp, he called it, and we’d been left alone by most of the dungeon’s residents. Some of them had started coming in to fight, but Mew bared rows of teeth and roared, and our would-be attackers would reconsider. As soon as they backed off, Mew would invariably break into gales of telepathic laughter. Oh man, did you see her face?

Mew looked away. Yeah. Mostly. I waited, and he started to explain. There’s another world out there. Maybe lots of them. This is all kind of new, but . . . have you heard of Ultra Space? I shook my head. It’s . . . someplace different. Not just “out there.” Mew gestured to the sky with a paw. It’s almost like the mystery dungeons, maybe related to them. You basically need a portal to get there. Now, none of us had heard of this before, until a few new legendary pokémon appeared. Solgaleo and Lunala. They came from Ultra Space. Humanoid, Chapter 1: Reentry

One star had been growing closer. For a time I’d wondered if I would hit it, but it was apparent now that I would not. It had taken time, but now I could perceive planets. One of them had to be my destination. The odds of passing through one solar system on the way to another were infinitesimal. Sure enough, I found that one of the planets would intersect my course. It was blue and green. Water existed there, in a liquid state. That meant life, almost certainly. As it came closer, I was able to discern more. Large land masses and oceans formed an equilibrium. The star’s light formed convection patterns, atmosphere, land, and wat

“Where am I?” “You are between worlds, young one.” I started. Floating in grey nothingness, I hadn’t expected an answer. “Who are you?” I tried vainly to twist around, to see something. “Caretaker. Creator. I am what I need to be, as are we all.” A white quadruped figure stepped out of the nothingness. “I doubt I’m what you expected. I am not of your world.” “Between worlds . . . that’s what you said. Why are we here?” “You are here because I brought you. Because you are something different . . . and I hope it will be enough. Cling to the Light: Chapter 3

I wasn’t ready. I’d been preparing for this moment for more or less my whole life. Learning to fight, to hunt, to take care of myself. Our den felt crowded. Three eons and two eevee took up all the space, and Roca was almost ready to evolve himself. There was no way we’d all fit then, not without piling on top of each other.   A small part of me couldn’t wait to go out on my own. The rest of me thought that part was insane. I felt like I was still waiting for…I don’t know. That moment. The one where I’d stop being a child and start being an adult, where I knew what to do about things and how to look o

Tyler's Search Prologue: A Day Like Any Other

(series is complete!) ********************************************************    Eighteen months ago, the trainer Red, a young man from Pallet Town in Kanto, came out of nowhere and brought down the gang known as Team Rocket. His meteoric rise took him to the championship of the Kanto League and beyond. Now an elite trainer and Pokemon Master, Red crossed the mountains to the neighboring region of Johto.    The remnants of Team Rocket have gone legitimate, and peace has returned. Professor Elm of the Johto region has just agreed to sponsor a few new trainers. Ray is a young boy, but one day he and Chikorita are going to be just like Red

The Locksmith

The weakest part of any door is the lock. I know that better than anyone. Or at least I thought so, until today. The man who designed the vault I now stand in front of must have had the words seared into his soul. I begin with an outward inspection—not normally part of my line of work, but I mostly open and replace locks whose keys have broken off around the village, fit new locks to the safe rooms of the rich, that sort of thing, with locks, for all the complexity I can give them, that still fit into the palm of my hand. The vault is a cube of smooth black steel, standing taller than I do. The edges almost vanish beyond the flickering

My Bio
Hello, and welcome to my page! Let's see... I'm a college student from the US. I've always kind of enjoyed art (and REALLY enjoyed reading). I grew up in an LDS (Mormon) family and served a mission a few years ago. I love God and Christ and I will stand for them. I know that They are real and that They love us very much. I don't care what people may say these days - I have had prayers answered and seen hearts touched and lives changed. I have a testimony of the Bible and of the Book of Mormon. They both testify of Christ and invite all men everywhere to come to Him. I'm not here for arguments; if you really want to know, ask Him yourself. I can promise He will answer your prayers if you "ask in faith," as James said. That said, if you have questions about the gospel or our church I'll do everything I can to answer them.

Since I got back, I've started writing; my new goal is to be a published author by the time I finish my degree. It's a high goal, but those are the kind that push you to do more. I've gotten back into Pokemon lately, so that's what a lot of my art is about. At the moment, I'm primarily an author, though I do occasional digital art and pixel sprites.

My go-to software:
Writing: Microsoft Word
Pixel Art: Paint.net (free, for sprites and image editing)
Digital Art: Krita (something like SAI paint tool, but free)

Current Residence: College
Favourite style of art: Literature/Digital Art
Operating System: Windows 10
Pokemon of choice: Galeon
Shell of choice: Conch
Skin of choice: mine
Favourite cartoon character: Toothless

If you want to play Mario Kart I WILL own on you. Fair warning.

people not asking so many questions... this is tiring!
I'm doing a Tyler's Search spinoff following one of the secondary characters. First chapter up soon.
It's been a while, but I haven't forgotten. I've decided my next project will be the final two parts of Sara's Story.

Tyler's Search QandA

Tyler's Search QandA

As those of you who have been following me for a while know, I've been writing a massive fanfiction (massive on the order of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix going by wordcount) about an eevee named Tyler who loses his family to pokemon trainers. That story is now finished; the epilogue is here. The purpose of this journal is that with Tyler's Search done, I am now ready to answer any and all questions you might have about it. If you haven't read it beware, I'm expecting lots of spoilers. I'm not holding anything back here, there are no secrets I need to keep now. If you want to know, ask, if I have an answer you'll get it. I won't
