Devastation

I can’t even guess how long this took me, because I’ve been battling with it on and off for (no exaggeration here) two years. I’m not entirely sure what the idea behind it was, I just felt the urge to illustrate some, as the title hints, ‘Devastation’. So here is a dragon-horse in front of a volcano. Enjoy.

Overall, I have to say that I’m pleased with it. I know that, as always, there are plenty of things that I could improve on – but it isn’t a complete screw-up and that’s what counts, so damn it all, I’m going to be proud of myself!

I used my own horse stock, quite heavily manipulated, drew all hair and lighting by hand, merged numerous images to create the background… So yeah, I spared no effort. Except on the fire. For that I was lazy and just used an awesome PNG image.

I can’t even BEGIN to express how thankful I am to all the stock providers! Thank you all for being so generous!
