WOW gurl! Everything about this is extremely impressive! The colors, accessories, pose, and also the story blurb down below....this appeal really embodies the idea of Resurrection! I love the idea of Espeon breaking out of the colored egg, the symbolism behind that image was a great touch. I can tell that you really put your all into this piece, I can't find any flaws in it at all. Great job!
The second round was just as impressive as the first. I think my favorite part is how her tail is curving to form a heart. The combination of attacks is really beautiful, I like how she is floating with psychic and how the Morning Sun frames her head there. The bits of rainbow coming from her jewel are also a great touch. Congrats on a job well done! Send me a note about what kind of sculpture you'd like me to make bro :>Mugen:
This is so pretty! The adherence to the main theme is stunning, perhaps one of the best in this Contest. The usage of an egg and wings to symbolize rebirth fits the subtheme to a T and the touch of having tears coming from the revived Pokémon - a sign one must die before they can be reborn - creates a wonderful complete package. Round 2 lived up to the standard set by Round 1, being just as bright and using Morning Sun for a nice feeling of being out doors and rising to the sky. The beams of Psybeam seemed a little stiff and seperate from the rest of the presentation, however, and Espeon was leaning a bit much towards Cute in this segment as well. The cohesiveness between the two rounds, however, was quite nice.Jena:
I'm... not 100% on what the Pokeball's significance was, but overall this was still a really good entry~ I did like how you incorporated the whole egg thing in the first round; lots of people seem to forget eggs are a symbol of new life/resurrection, so kudos. c: I also really like the use of psychic as a means of levitation in the appeal.Miyukitty

Wow, you just never cease to amaze me, Miyu! The use of accessories was creative and unique, and the whole piece is very well laid out. I love how we don't actually see the trainer, it gives the scene a very mysterious feel. Chain's pose, while absolutely full of detail (I love the way you ink!) is a bit plain and doesn't stand out too much. But the amount of effort you put into this appeal is astounding, and it definitely gives off the feeling of a Nightmare.
The second round is just asjkfhaksdfhs when do I even start! The whole thing flows really well;, Chain's pose is powerful and really conveys motion beautifully, and the blur from his horn is also extremely impressive. it was a great decision to have it wrap around the frame like that. I also like the smaller details, such as the clouds that are being blown away, and the judges in the background. Overall this appeal is nothing BUT cool! Great job!Mugen:
As always, an excellent usage of accessories by Coordinator Jikan, and I understand the lack of hall destruction was an impressive feat in itself. The usage of an Absol for a Cool contest won't be making the news anytime soon, but it was a negligable enough detail. The first round was an excellent usage of subtheme as well as cliffhanger like suspense, but Chain's ruffled fur and expression edged just a bit too much into Tough. The lack of actual worn accessories, while mostly balanced by the way they were used, also docked a few points. Any shortcomings were turned around completely in the Appeal round. Not only was the usage of moves in the environment created quite Cool, but you managed to seamlessly blend in aspects of the subtheme with the potential terror of what your Pokémon was doing.Jena:
Your work blows me away every time, man. And it's great to see that Chain and Jikan are just as badass as ever. The shadows in your first round were really impressive, and the appeal really cranked up the "nightmare" factor. Seriously, that's one Absol I never want to meet in a dark alley.MrAthens

....Wow. I really...have no words for this appeal. You've blown me away! Everything about this is just fantastic; it looks like it could be a movie poster for a Black Tourney film haha. The composition is flawless, I love the way the MC's tendrils snake up around Brian like that, and BD hanging limp from his claws....the MC's face is really creepy too. The TV screens in the background were an AMAZING idea, and I love the way you've used them as the light source for this scene. Brian's expression and pose are strong and very clearly convey emotion, I like how tears are beginning to build up in his eyes. I really can't find anything wrong with this appeal, so congrats!
The second appeal isn't as strong as the first, even though I really love the concept behind it. I think that it's getting a bit too close to 'beauty' territory, a more actiony scene would have fit a Cool contest better. Also the broken TV screens at the top feel a bit messy. But the pose and overall composition are well thought out, I especially love the way the wings are breaking apart.Mugen:
:This is an extremely strong opening within the Contest subtheme, and the general composition reminds me of action movies, a wonderful call into the main theme. There is an excellent usage of both foreshadowing and props, and the lighting creates a very nice eerie effect. Round 2 was a nice harken into the subtheme with falling being a frequent fear, but I had a bit of trouble understanding what was going on. Perhaps if you angled the way Brian was holding Athens so we could better understand the situation? The dynamic situation suffered a bit from the presentation.Jena:
asdfjkl. That first round, bro. :c I know I'm going to sound like a broken record if I keep talking about the first round, but... but god damn, LOOK AT IT. <3 It's so intense, and fits both the theme and the anniversary PERFECTLY. The appeal doesn't quite have the same intensity, but it still remains very emotional and true to the theme. <3GinnySheep

Another familiar face, awesome! Strix's expression is very convincing and really helps sell the idea of him being in a Nightmare. The webs were a really great idea and also ties (hehehehe) into the theme well. However, besides the webs and the scarf, he doesn't have many accessories other then his normal goggles and bandana. I would have liked to see a little something more.
The second round feels more like a beauty piece then a cool one, especially the way you've depicted the lighting. Also I agree with your statement in the comments; for an attack round, his pose seems pretty lackluster. Instead of spinning it looks as though he is in the middle of jumping. But it is a nicely done piece in any case, so you got a few points for it~Mugen:
A Wartortle was an unexpected choice given the opportunity for Cool in this contest, so one earns points for creativity there. The outfit is quite nice and leans into the theme well, and while I can't speak for if the webs are cool or not, it was a very creative stage set up for the sub theme. Spiders are a common fear so it was a nice addition, and Skrix' expression wonderfully captures the sub theme as well. You can feel the tension in the air in this presentation. Round 2 lost some of the flare of Round 1 though, as it seems the subtheme was forgotten about. The way Skrix escaped from the web made up for this in how cool it felt, though. I would work on the clarity of the move being used, however.Jena:
Your first round was really great~~ I could really sense the panic and terror; plus I loved the little detail of Skrix hanging onto Linqu's scarf, and the web strands were very nicely done. <3 The second round didn't quite have the same "nightmare"-ish feel to me, but I understand how tough it is when move pools just won't cooperate, haha. (Although the little callback to your first round was really clever; props for that. <3 )Nehirium

Ah wow, your choice of medium really works in your favor here, your paints are always so impressive! Her pose is nice and I like how the shiny dust is twirling around her. However I wish that the accessories had been used a little more in the appeal; the flowers are a great idea but they're just carpeting the floor, it would have been cool to see some of them in the air, or perhaps she could have been holding some?
The second round comes back strong with some very touching symbolism that I feel really captures the theme~ I like the way the two attacks are twirling around each other and Des at the same time, however be careful....Psych Up is a smart move! Mugen:
While the presentation is very pretty, I'm not seeing much in the way of accessories or adherence to the subtheme. There is a nice composition with the lighting, the way the beams of light shine in and Des is in the center draws attention straight to her, as should be in both Contests and pretty things. I like the way you've swirled the sparkles of snow around her. In Round 2, the usage of the attacks could have been better. Psych Up is a Smart move, but you did use Frost Breath in a fashion fitting both theme and sub theme. Water moves are known for falling under Beauty, so there was some nice foresight in that. The eternity symbol was a wonderfully creative touch!Jena:
Seems like everyone is making quite the triumphant return. And Des certainly knows how to do beauty right. <3 It's always cool when you guys manage to utilize in game items so well for your dress up rounds. At first I didn't really get much of a sense of resurrection from the appeal round, but then I caught the infinity symbol, which while really subtle, was a nice touch. c:9beautiful-stag6

While the use of movement was surprising at first, I can't give you too many points here due to the fact that he has close to no accessories on him. Since the first round is based on items, next time try and add as many as you possibly can!
The second round is very nice, I feel like your gif idea works better for this one. The blur and then close up of the claw look pretty darn cool! However the entry looks a bit sketchy and not very well fleshed out.Mugen:
Well I've se- What just happened?! The movement on this piece was completely unexpected and beautifully depicted. I do not think I could see a better execution of the subtheme in this round, and the flash of lightning was a wonderful attention getter. There is some nice composition usage to draw the attention directly to the proper source, and Gliscor's smile after the surprising move is suitably creepy. Round 2 continues the effective usage of movement, although it lacks the punch giving that it was expected. The usage of bringing the claw foremost forward was a nice touch towards making the audience feel as if they are going to be the target of the attack, however!Jena:
Usually, I find bats very cute/misunderstood, but yeah, no. If that thing was chilling in my trees at night, I don't think I'd ever want to leave the house again either. You certainly captured the nightmare atmosphere well, and the concept of making them animated was nice; but the animation needs just a bit more tweaking in the future. For some reason I can't seem to get the first one to reload to see it again (though that's likely just my computer being silly), and in the second round the first frame goes by too fast, and I don't have a chance to really admire the Gliscor before "OH GOD CLAWS IN MAH FACE". ...Then again, maybe it's all the more scary because you -don't- get the chance to see what hits you.
