Both are young heroes in sequels series (Mega Man ZX and A-Post Honkai Odyssey respectively) taking place after the events of the original where they live in a world at peace as a result of the sacrifices of major heroes (Zero and Kiana Kaslana respectively) who they stopped the previous main villains (Doctor Weil and Kevin Kaslana respectively) from in acting world threatening events (Ragnarok and Project STIGMA respectively) and made sacrifices as a result (Zero died destroying Ragnarok while Kiana sealed all the Honkai to the moon)

Many years later both of their stories began as orphans in a way (Vent lost his mother in a Maverick attack while Adam was theorized to same boy who lost his parents and was kidnapped as a child.) before being rescued by heroic figures (Girouette and Raiden Mei respectively)

Both of them are also unique compared to the previous protagonists (Vent was a human Mega Man and Adam had Honkai adaptability which is rare amongst males)

Both would go onto join major organizations (Giro Express and Schicksal respectively) as well as heroic squads (Guardians and Anti-Honkai Special Force respectively) and fight hostile threats (Mavericks and Sky People respectively) and major leaders (Serpent and Void Archives respectively)
