DEATH BATTLE: Obi-Wan Kenobi VS Eraqus

Star Wars vs Kingdom Hearts

Connection:

Both are wise old mentors and respective leaders of the light side of an endless war between light and darkness and filled with regret over their past mistakes, both wield special blades (Lightsaber and Keyblade respectively) and using their universes' unique powers (The Force and Magic respectively)

Both had young rebellious students who are obsessed with power and had darkness in them whom they would go onto fight (Anakin Skywalker and Terra respectively) and said students to be manipulated by evil, black and old villains (Emperor Palpatine and Master Xehanort respectively), in prequel stories taking place years before the original story (Star Wars Prequel Trilogy and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep respectively)

Both were trained by a old mentor (Qui-Gon Jin and Master Odin respectively) in their younger years on places that were once filled with peace and learning (Jedi Temple and Scala ad Caelum respectively) there they train before eventually raising up to the ranks of masters (Jedi Master and Keyblade Master respectively). In both times both were dogmatic with the obsession for the light side and casting out the dark side, however the result of this has lead to many tragedies as they've lost many of their comrades in many battles

Both of them had a best friend they were close to (Anakin Skywalker and Xehanort respectively), but they were consumed and corrupted by darkness forcing them to face said friends which resulted in their own demise by them and they would go onto to become dark black chad villains (Anakin became Darth Vader and Xehanort became the Dark Seeker). On top of that both of their friends were prophesied in a way to save their worlds (Anakin was the Chosen One to bring balance to the Force, while Xehanort was the Child of Destiny that saves the world from darkness) but ended up being pawns to much bigger villains (Emperor Palpatine and Luxu respectively)

But despite their deaths both of them would be able to live on in some way shape or form with their students (Obi-Wan became a Force Ghost and guide Luke and Eraqus's heart was able to enter Terra and give him the means to resist the darkness). Both of their former friends would go onto be defeated and reformed by the series' main protagonist (Luke Skywalker and Sora respectively) and they would reunite with them as they too become have spirit forms as well

Additionally, Eraqus's voice actor, Mark Hamill was specifically chosen by Tetsuya Nomura due to his role as Luke Skywalker who was Obi-Wan's student
