DEATH BATTLE: Little Mac VS Ippo Makunouchi

Punch-Out!! vs Hajime ni Ippo

Connections:

Both are young boxers from Japanese franchises who started out as underdogs and were routinely made fun of because of their short stature before they were taken in by former boxers (Doc Louis and Kamogawa Genji respectively) who would become their coaches after seeing their potential

Both utilize the Boxer-Puncher boxing style, which prioritize speed and power (Though Ippo is commonly referred as an In-Fighter boxer)

Both take on eccentric and larger-than-life foes, but are always able to prevail thanks to their speed, determination and skill

Both would eventually retire from boxing at a relatively young age
