Both are gigantic, spiked monsters who represents an aspect of nature (Godzilla represent humanity's greed for power and wanting to mess with nature and Groudon represents the land and earth)

Both their presence alone could alter an environment (Godzilla leaves radiation in his wake which turns said area inhabitable and Groudon evaporates water and oceans with super heat that causes drought)

Both can access super forms (Burning/Super Godzilla and Primal Groudon respectively)

Both use an attack which fires a concentrate beam of energy from their mouths (Atomic Breath and Solar Beam)

Both have organic copy of themselves that is even more deadly than them when it got in the wrong hands (King Godzilla and Virus Groudon respectively)

Both are also rivals with a dragon (King Ghidorah to Godzilla and Rayquaza to Groudon)
