DEATH BATTLE: Billy Butcher VS The Punisher

The Boys vs Marvel

Connections:

Both are brutal comic book anti-heroes who are humans that lived in a world full of superhumans. Both served in their army (Billy being in the Special Air Service and Frank being in the US Marine Corps )

Both had their families killed by evil people (Butcher's wife Becky was dead in the comics as Black Noir raped her and she had a super powered fetus that bursts out of her stomach. Frank's family became witnesses to a mob killing by the Costa family and sought to silence them, leaving Frank as the sole survivor)

Both hated superheroes (Butcher doesn't like them because of what they did to Becky and also to other people. In Ennis' version of Punisher he didn't like them, also they were his main motivation to killing all of the Marvel universe)

Both were apart of a morally gray group (The Boys and Thunderbolts respectively)

Both still suffer from the PTSD or memories of their loved ones . Both had gotten some kind of enhancement that had helped them in combat temporarily (Temp V for Butcher, although in the comic's it has become permanent for all of The Boys members, and The War Machine suit for Frank)

Both are shown to be ruthless when killing and come up with horrific or unique ways of killing their victims (Butcher beat the Daredevil of his universe to death with his crowbar while Frank beating a pedophile with a bat) and have experience with using firearms

Both have thematic black color and names (Billy Butcher for butchering and Frank Castle for punishing as The Punisher)

Also Billy Butcher is directly inspired by Punisher
