Both are Hunters who need to create many Plans to capture someone and maintain victory (Jimmy, who steals a stuffed rabbit from Monica to become a Street Owner, feel superior to the other boys and dominate the world, and Wile, who is a Road Runner to finally eat like his Father and his Family of Coyotes, who always capture their own Road Runner).

But they fail many times due to someone interrupting them or because they themselves have failed. They think they are geniuses for being obstructive, but due to their Ego, Incompetence, Arrogance, Stubbornness and for being very unlucky, things always go wrong for them.

They will already try to compete in Intelligence against other more intelligent characters (Bugs Bunny and Franklin).

They have a Companion, to help or hinder their plans (Smudge and Calamity Coyote).

They have a Womanizer who is known for being very Smelly (again, Smudge and Pepe Le Pew).

While sometimes their plans go wrong for their Rivals, they work for another common enemy of the Protegonist, who needs to work together (Jimmy's fictional plans for many enemies and villains that appear in Lemon Street, and many Aliens and Monsters that play basketball in the movie Space Jam).

They both also have a live-action movie featuring them as protagonists (Monica's Gang: Bonds is a movie that canceled Coyote vs. Acme).

They have also appeared in many crossovers in DC Comics, even with characters from Cartoon Network and other TV shows from a rival studio.

They are known for never giving up on their destiny.
