Do you have some art that you'd like to submit?
Excellent! This is how:
First, which region is your character from? Are they a Pokemon or a person from Pokemon? Are there multiple characters, all from different regions?
Once you know the answer to the above, have a look at the gallery! We have a folder for each of the four regions, plus a folder for people, and one for art of characters from several regions.
Now that you're in the gallery, there are a few different ways to submit. The most straightforward is to scroll down to the Gallery name you'd like to submit to. Click the + symbol on the right-hand side of the title bar. Then click 'Submit to Gallery', and then 'Contribute Existing Artwork', and pick what you'd like to submit from your own gallery! It's as easy as that
You can also do this from inside each individual gallery by clicking the 'Submit to Gallery' button. You will notice that at the top of the dialog box that opens there is a drop-down menu that asks which gallery you'd like to submit to.
The last way if the shortest, sweetest way. If you already know exactly where to put what you'd like to submit, click your username+icon where it appears right underneath the club's name. You'll get a drop-down box with a few options, and one is 'Submit Deviation'. Click here and select the appropriate gallery in the dialog.
Where should I submit? Easy! These examples should give you an idea:
Example: You've got a fantastic picture of Raichu that you want to submit. Submit to 'Kanto' and you're flying free
Example 2: You have a group artwork with Lapras, Aron, Luxray and Raikou. Click on 'Multiple Regions' and submit away!
Example 3: You've drawn a great piece of Frontier Brain Palmer and his Dragonite. This one's tricky! You could submit to either Multiple Regions or People, but the easiest way to figure out which place is best is to think about which character is the most prominent. If the picture is mostly about Dragonite, go for Multiple, but if it's more about Palmer, then go for People If it could be half and half, we will probably put it into both!
Lastly, don't sweat it if you're unsure or submit to the wrong gallery by accident. We'll be able to sort everything out from back here if anything goes wrong
Important note about submissions: Artwork submitted to the club doesn't need to be full-on realism, but we are aiming for a club image where the focus is work of reasonable quality where the focus is on a more realistic 're-imagining' of the pokemon rather than, as mentioned before, a more toonish representation with a few shifts in style.
Previously we were a bit more loose with this definition but it ended up creating difficulties in establishing a 'line', so to speak, between what was and wasn't appropriate for the club, so we had to make the decision to become a bit more strict with what we approved.
Don't be offended if your work doesn't make it through! It's not an indication of your skill, but rather what we feel best fits the image of the club. What is the image? The best way to tell is take a look at the examples of what is in the Featured gallery. If in doubt, feel free to ask us! We don't bite :]
