My work explores the relationship between the smallest details to a wider view of the every day life.
With influences as diverse as J.P.Witkin and Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jan Saudek and Bellmer, new variations are crafted from both the daily routines and special events.
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition and the numerous ways to depict it, frame it in an artwork with not well defined time and place.
The projection of the individual against the wide canvas of society’s standards. The representation of individuality vs the collectivism of modern life.
As shimmering phenomena become frozen through diligent and critical practice, the viewer is left with a glimpse of my personal life, the people and the place that make it unique.
Personalities are complex structures, much like the facets of a diamond. Each facet can claim the light and shine and be the focus of attention. But we must never forget that the other facets exist and that they are also waiting for a turn in the light. Just like facets these pictures are aspect of my personality, unrelated, opposite and yet complementary, alien to each other yet functional parts to reach wholeness.
