The results of the Inside The Glasshouse Contest are in…and the winner is:

yourpleasantdarkness

---

[untitled entry]
Kaleidoscopic prisms, the dancing life
beyond a willingness for prison,
shackled only in the belief
that glass may tear and sever sinew,
with the vulnerable cowardice, insensitive
to anything but pain--

aggrieved, not by the squalor of society
(Here,
I will press my hand to yours,
without fear of germs and blinding pain,
here you cannot hit me, strike me,
or defile my every whim--

here, perhaps I can dream--)

an idyllic world, with the grass untouching, scampering
ants working their way around me,

watching cities rise and fall, eternity passing
in the clockwork sands hardened and burned
through clarity, without reflective light--
by evening, crickets are my songs

my melodies are starlight and moonlight,
and the Autumnal echo of coyotes
will reverberate in my glass heart

and in pane,
my fingers will grasp

frustratingly unable to reach
everything I hold dear,
including your palm

rather as it is now,
rather as it shall be--
rather how I make it--

by enclosing myself in fear.

I like it a lot, definitely deserving. I totally get what the author's trying to say, and while some of the images were too abstract to understand at times, it was still very beautifully and maturely worded.
