New Lens Update

Getting used to a new lens is like kissing someone new.   Sometimes it's just right and everything falls into place.   And sometimes, it's just awkward.  :flirty: My new lens and I have been awkward.  And my old lens... well, I'll just say it sucks that it costs more money to repair a lens than to buy a brand new one.  I like to avoid adding to the landfills, and it costs me money.  That's a little ridiculous, don't ya think? ;) I've been thinking recently how easy it is for many of us to become so commercialized by our art.  What is more important to me as an artist?  Is it more important to gain recognition or money for my hard work or

Well, I had a somewhat devastating incident happen last week.  I went to my mother's house to shoot her tulips and lilacs.  I was yapping with my mom while I placed my camera on my tripod.  Sometimes I forget that I cannot multi-task.  In the middle of my passionate and intense conversation, I let go of the camera... on unsteady ground.  It fell with a pop.  I gasped as my mom exclaimed, "Oh dear!"  Incredibly, the camera kept shooting with no problems.  I thought I was in the clear. However, late last week, while I was shooting landscape shots, I noticed that the camera wasn't zooming or focusing like it should.  I knew it was from the fall
