Science Fiction art of the month v.7
Science Fiction art of the month v.7
This is a selection of the most beautiful and unique science fiction pictures
that were submitted within the last month. We've taken our personal favourites from each
of deviantart's sci-fic categories.
We are trying to find new, undiscovered artists to help them getting more attention. But of course we cannot ignore the art of the already well known artists.
If you want to see your works in this monthly feature, you just need to create pictures that fit the topic. Please don't be mad if you are not chosen this time.
Please take some time and enjoy these awesome works.
Best regards,
gucken & TobiasRoetsch
Our artist of the month is Pr3t3nd3r :iconpr3t3nd3r:.
Everybody knows his thankie dance. But behind this dance you will find one of the most creative spaceartists who has been making a great development over the last three years. Make sure to check out his gallery as soon as possible.

HyperRealism and PhotoRealism Feature
Hyperrealism is a genre of painting or sculpture that can be mistaken for a high-resolution photo. This is an extension of Photorealism, which was created in the traditional since. The use of a photo for a reference to create something that is more definite and detailed. Everything about the subject would be taken into consideration, no detail left behind you could say. Everything is very tight and mechanical. Emotion or narratives are generally left out on purpose to create only what is real and in the moment.
On the other hand, Hyperrealism takes Photorealism to a more surreal degree, some would say. The Artist wants to create exactly what they see and embellish it to a degree of almost unbelievable realism, or a new reality. Every degree of the surface area is created to appear clearer than even the original subject matter.  Hyperrealism stimulates reality for the viewer, when really it crosses the line of illusion.
"The simulation of something which never really existed.&

Made a new forum, come check it out.

Here is the newest video, and boy is it beautiful.

For those of you who like open world sandbox space games similar to Freelancer, I suggest you have a look at this up and coming procedurally generated space game.  It's called Limit Theory.  It isn't complete quite yet, but is getting very close.  Have a look, this game deserves some serious attention if you like these kinds of games.  The video I link below is the latest one as of today, but we are expecting a new one soon, and it promises to be very interesting.  Also, it wouldn't hurt to spread the word about this game to any of your friends that like these kind of games.  :)

I've been busy playing Torchlight 2 lately. It's like Diablo I and II. I played through a couple times with the vanilla version, but now I have been playing with a mod called Synergies. I am having a blast, dying a lot, but having a blast. Here are a few links to give you an idea of what it's like.

Here is a description of it :…
Here is where you can get it :…
Here is a little video of it in action :…

Of course you have to buy the game first, but it's only like $20 and can find it on sale sometimes for even cheaper.

Merry Christmas everyone. And happy whatever you choose to celebrate.

I have internet again now so I can be a little more active here.  I've been getting the urge to make some more space scenes and whatnot, so stay tuned.  I will be making more as time permits.

Well, Afina79 used another of my images as a background for one of her images and here is the result.…
Turned out pretty good I think.  I think it's interesting to see what she comes up with.  She may do another at some future point.  Comments welcome as always.

Well it is summer time again and I have (for the time being) internet access.  So I can play online again to some degree.  We'll see what happens.

Yesterday I was approached by Afina79 who expressed an interest in some of my images as backgrounds for other work.  I offered her a chance to pick one from my gallery and see what she could come up with.  I got a very pleasant surprise when she showed me this… If anyone else wants to try something similar let me know and I will see what I can do.  I may in the future offer some of them for sale on Renderosity or someplace like that if there is enough interest in them.

I got a chance to get online so I thought I would say Merry Christmas to everyone.

I will be losing my internet connection soon and I don't know when I will be back on.  So I want to say thanks to all the people who have enjoyed my work and been so supportive.  I hope to be back when I can.  Thanks.

I finally got around to setting up all of my poems in one easy to read location.  If you like the poems you've seen on this site, I have many more on my main site here.
