Gentlepeople. We are back in business.

... Erm. In a manner of speaking. Well, we're still alive, at any rate! A few changes have been made though, and we're going to try to make this a more active group.

:bulletblack: I've went to the featured group and have sorted out the deviations into their respective folders. From now on, deviations will be copied instead of moved to their groups, and the deviations randomly featured. That way, everyone gets a chance at being featured on the front page.

:bulletblack: I have added two new folders: a much needed photography folder, and one for comics.

:bulletblack: Members can now directly upload into their desired folder, but they are still subject to approvals.

ANOTHER THING: What say you of a monthly discussion?

We can create a chatroom for our group, and every month, we'll pick out a story or poem to discuss. You would be free to discuss your own interpretation so long as you make it understandable. It will be a bit like a book club.

However, if you'd like to discuss in more technical terms (ex: if you are majoring in English Literature and would like to discuss, let's say, how to apply Freudian theory to some of Mr. Poe's stories) we can have a "Literary appreciation" discussion the day after the general one.

If we run out of Edgar Allan Poe stories, we could discuss poems and short stories by other writers that may remind you of him, or the tone of his poems... or we could even have a sort of show and tell day, where four members each month will bring a poem they want to talk about.

What do you guys think? Post your opinions in the comment section, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to give them! Have a nice day, afternoon or night, depending on where you live and your current plane of existence.

P.S. It seems we've missed Mr. Poe's 205th birthday mark, so a happy belated birthday! :iconmarchcoven: has submitted something for the occasion, so if any of you have posted anything then, link me to feature it!

Marchcoven: Edgar Allen Poe's 205th birthday

P.P.S. I really must apologise since lately I've only managed to log on to make sure new members are accepted as well as their deviations. However, now I can make a little more time for the group!

What's the point of administering a site if you're letting submitted deviations expire?

Thank you for the invite.
I'm currently working on voice recordings on some of Poe's writings and other works of gothic literature.  I'm currently looking for collaborations regarding art/animation to go along with them.  If anyone is interested, please message me.

Did you know that some of his poems are supposedly attacks on Masons... Some say he was assassinated by the Masons. I don't subscribe to many of the anti-Mason theories... But it would be cool if someone did one about Poe fighting secret societies!

Whoooa, I never heard that one before! I remember reading a novel where a theory was he was killed for political differences, so he wouldn't vote, I think, but I dunno either.

That WOULD be pretty cool though, I agree!

Poe actually also did some work on metaphysics... he was pretty gifted... I'd say you could make up stories all day with him...

Over the mountains of the moon, through the valley of the shadows. I've been searching for art work that portrays that line of Eldarado.any suggestions

I don't believe I've seen anything in our gallery yet, but it's a bit messy and needs cleaning up after all! So you could always take a look there!

Otherwise, I'm not too sure where to find them... I'm guessing searches tend to show the animated movie instead?
