1) No mini-modding

I am bringing up the topic of the group's general rules, which we haven't yet written down for everyone to see, because I've seen people answering others' questions on multiple places (newbie guide, FAQ, front page).

YOU ARE -NOT- ALLOWED TO ANSWER ANOTHER MEMBER'S QUESTION.*

We understand the urge to help, but I've already seen replies that were wrong or subjective. We do not want any situations arising from people who were misinformed by someone else; This is annoying for both us admins that need to clean up and look like the bad guys for changing something someone had already set up, and for that person that worked to establish something that goes against the group's rules.

It also involves calling out the attention of the person who replied wrongly. It is not nice for them, and we MOST CERTAINLY don't enjoy doing it, but as admins we have to enforce certain rules for the sake of the group.

*THE ONLY CIRCUMSTANCE UNDER WHICH YOU MAY REPLY TO SOMEONE'S QUESTION IS -IF AND ONLY IF- YOU REPLY BY LINKING THE PERSON TO A COMMENT OR JOURNAL WHERE AN ADMIN HAS REPLIED TO SAID QUESTION.

Thank you all for understanding.

Thank you for your time. Andy, your friendly neighbourhood shrew~

2) You must not submit artwork or writing that wasn't drawn or written by you.

This is a group for artists looking to grow and develop their skills. Using commissioned artwork, copyrighted art or sprites, or stealing an artist's work or character is not acceptable. Working in collaboration with a friend or someone outside the group is ok, so long as you have their permission to be involved, and have contributed significantly to the production. Similarly, using 'open source' characters that may have been created by someone else is heavily discouraged.

This includes tracing. If an artwork contains obviously traced material, you'll be asked to modify it appropriately.

3) Do not harass other members

If you see a member causing trouble, please report them to the administration. Telling them that they may be on the wrong track or correcting small errors is fine, but if you're going to do that, make sure you quote the appropriate journals as per rule 1).

4) No spamming or advertising

This one goes without saying really. Besides advertising tumblrs or streams, refrain from using the group for such things and do not spam. The folders can hold a limited number of submissions before they have to be archived, which can be a pain to organize.

is using a character creator and editing it allowed as long as we credit who made it?
