Screw 2 - Zoom by ~playmobil is an absolutely photorealistic 3d piece. from the scratches to the reflections you could easily think it really is a photo. convince yourself, you won't regret it. ( Suggested by bluespeed9 and Featured by tigaer )

Dear Friend,

That is not a copy. It is the result of a contest based on a photo.

The image that you mentioned belongs to Marcelo Souza.
Posted in the same contest on the site [link].
He allowed the use of this ilustration.

Before accusing, try to know what you are speaking.

Thus, you don't offend someone that made an effort to do some good thing. :phew:

very nice.
the materials all look perfect.
the only thing that would make me think it's not real is that the threads are not ANSI.
nice job.

Why has this been chosen? Like the user Jankins has pointed out, it's almost identical to the 3D render that's been shipped with every recent version of 3DSMax. (I have the program.)It's not difficult either to import the wire mesh into Lightwave, and tweak the lighting effects to some degree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this work isn't an original creation.

this is absolutely amazing... i make a habit of trying to critique everything i see, hmm...

The tile in the background: while i realize that it isnt the focus of the piece, a simple recess or grout would help out a lot here because the smooth plane of the background makes a stark contrast to the screw, takes your eye off em too much.

Umm... the top of the front screw looks a little too textured and not enough reflection i guess...

I know how much work these renders are, ive stared at the lightwave control panel and gotten dizzy, but youve got some real talent. I'd urge you to run with it, challenge yourself a bit.

Anyway, nice screws =)

very realistic, imperfection is the key to the perfect photrealistic render

However i do tend to agree with another comment here, the background could do with a lil' messin' up too hehe:D

But the screws themselves are awesome, truly :+fav:

The praise you recieve is well deserved, however to add that extra touch of realism the background has to be imperfect as well, at that zoom you'll never see a surface that clean.

I figured out the one thing that you missed in trying to make it real... there is no reflection of the photogropher in the screw! :D
