A little test of a few things I wanted to investigate - Maya's marble 3D texture as a displacement map, several passes I hadn't tried before such as incidence and normalWorld passes, and the J_Ops Bokeh DOF plugin for Nuke 6.2, which is excellent!


Rendered at 1080p in Maya/Mental Ray - about 40mins on an i7 using FG and soft shadows.

this is really cool, I'd love to see a terraspace or actual space scene done with that. :thumbsup:

Pretty cool. I like the effects, though the DOF effect doesn't seem right to me.

That's very cool, it's almost impossible to describe how it feels, like would it feel like fiberglass, or perhaps carpet or some spongy material :O Nice effect anyway :D
