Learnt Houdini yet? ;D I've given it a look myself, awesome procedural modelling, new effects are great too. How are you buddy?
How is this not a DD? Really nice work Matt, love the concept and the colours are fantastic. Enjoying having a browse through your gallery after so long!

Ah so that's why you haven't been on IM :D

CONGRATUATIONS!!! This is a brilliant move for your career... I can't wait to see what you produce for them. Cool that you're using Nuke as well, I'm in love with that software. :D Especially 6.3 with the particle system ;D Maybe one day I'll see you at a Foundry conference or Siggraph/FMX! (Gotta love the free booze you get at those things).

By the way... Maya > Max ;) It doesn't really matter of course but I switched a year ago and I only jump back into Max when I have to. :D
LOVE IT :D

The clouds have a really interesting texture to them - not too conventional, and quite majestic. I love the idea, too - I must admit I've never thought of the eye of the storm that way before, but I'm sure this'll come to mind next time a hurricane crops up!

Awesome colours in the iris too, it almost looks like a jewel. :D Particularly noteworthy is the attention to detail exemplified in the difference in specularity between the iris and the eye white!

Just out of curiosity, do you use the colour balance tool in photoshop as a finishing step?
