The Mecha Sketchbook - 26 by PlasmaFire3000 The Mecha Sketchbook - 26 by PlasmaFire3000
Installment 26: December 20, 2009

An out-of-order submission from the previous piece. This is more of an experiment in ink wash with graphite, alongside loose technical pen sketching, rather than mecha design per se--hence the over-used pose and the ridiculous-looking "weapons" this fella is holding.

Yeah, I remember this being an exploratory drawing which lead into my current methods. It definitely has a look unlike many others.

Interesting design. I have always been trying to come up with sleek designs such s these, but could never get the proper composition. And very good idea for the feet.

Nice to see you posting again, Kevin. This is some heavy-duty stuff, I like it a lot! You've really nailed that "detailed sketch" feel.

Yeah, it's good to take some time off and do stuff that's hard, but fun. Unlike the hard-and-not-fun ordeals of the past few months... :/

Nice shading though, and the left arm weapon actually looks good. ^^
