The Great and Powerful Trixie by PlanetPlush The Great and Powerful Trixie by PlanetPlush
Le finished.

Finally, she's all finished. I've been working off and on for her for around 3 weeks I believe. Everything you can possibly imagine went wrong, but after rage quitting a few times I finally got some results.

This is hands down the best plush that I've made so far. I'm so happy with the way she turned out.

Trixie is 15 inches tall. The minky I used for her body has a laminate PU backing. No liquid can seep through her. Her eyes and cutie mark are machine embroidered. She has my initials, SV, embroidered on one of her back hooves.

Her head is attached with a lock nut joint and can rotate 360 degrees. I used custom printed fabric for her hat and cape. Both are lined with smooth lavender satin. Her cape can detach from her collar.

I made her with the intent of selling her, but for now I'd like to hold onto her for a little while.

Hey there, I went digging through spoonflower to try and find this design and order it, but I couldn't! :( I think since you uploaded it you get money if someone else orders it... do you have a link? Or maybe re-upload it? I'd be happy to give you the money and I am getting very sick of sewing stars on trixie capes :p.

Do you use a pattern you made, or is it one by someone else? I'm looking into making plushies as well.

Wow. This is a really pretty pony! She looks professionally made, like you would see this pony for sale in a store or something. Even though, sadly, most of the official pony plushes I`ve seen don`t look as good as this.

She is freaking amazing! I have material for trixie's cape/hat as well. Where did you get yours printed and what type of fabric? I'm not really sure I really like mine. ;_;

I got mine at spoonflower.com. The fabric I used is cotton sateen, but I have some of the cotton silk too.

Absolutely gorgeous! I'm in awe. Did you make the legs longer on this one?
Reply
:iconplanetplush:
PlanetPlush Featured By Owner Mar 20, 2012  Professional Artisan Crafter
Somehow they did come out longer. I guess since the minky I used was laminated it changed the stretch or something. I have no idea how she came out taller than the others. Trixie is the 8th wonder of the world. xD

How did you laminate the back of the minky, anyway? That seems confusing to me.

:iconplanetplush:

I actually bought it pre laminated. I think they have some products that allows you to do it yourself. I can't remember what they're called though.
