Hello all! You may have noticed that a brand new journal has just been released!
We'd like to introduce to you our [Stop 'N Swap]!
Here you can dump in any of the four following OoS items and get a random one back:
  - Prism Scale, Mod Tech, Species Swapper, Type Injector

We may upon up this swap pool for other items at a later date, but for now it's just for your OoS items that give your kiddo's traits.~
If you'd like to check it out, please head on over to the journal! Any info on how it works will be listed there. :>
If you have any suggestions on what sort of items pools you'd like to see on the Stop 'N Swap, feel free to drop that off at the [Suggestion Hotline] for review.

As a note, the Stop 'N Swap can only be used on Wednesdays! Any comment left on another day will be hidden and you'll have to come back and resubmit on the correct day.

Hello everyone! The group is now once again open for new and old members!
Here are the questions!



Q1: What would be the current BA of a level 64 Yamask/Ninetales with a starting base attack of 10?

Q2: What is required to be included in a Pokemon's reference sheet description?

Hello everyone!

Generation 8 is now released into the group.

This means you can now hatch your eggs into Gen 8 Pokemon, make and submit Gen 8 references, and get egg clinic approval on Gen 8 designs. Here is more information on how Gen 8 will be working in PKMNation, so please read through this information carefully as it will soon be added to the groups journals as well.

Galarian Forms

Let's welcome in some new forms for our beloved Pokemon! Galarian Forms will be treated like Alolan Forms. You can use a Form Candy on a Kanto Pokemon to change them into their Galarian form!

Once you use a Form Candy to change your Pokemon Galarian, there is no going back. Choose wisely as it's an irreversible change!

Note: This rule applies to Galarian Form Pokemon. You cannot change a Galarian Ponyta with a Form Candy back into a Kanto Ponyta. You cannot change an Alolan Pokemon into a Galarian Pokemon. Once you use a form candy on a Kanto Pokemon to choose either Galarian Form or Alolan Form you cannot go back!

You can of course evolve a Pokemon like Koffing into it's Galar Form or Kanto Form without the use of a Form Candy.

When breeding, only a Galarian form can give birth to a Galarian form.

Fusions will retain the same rules: The types must be taken from the parents. If a Fairy Fusion Galarian Ponyta evolves into a Galarian Rapidash it will lose it's Fairy Fusion status as Galarian Rapidash is a Psychic/Fairy type.

Move sets will be treated the same as the Alolan move sets. Once your Pokemon is in it's Galarian form they can only learn their Galar move sets and cannot learn from the other form's move set.

Indeedee will be treated the same as Meowstic and Lycanroc, where both the female and male forms can learn each other's move sets.


Legendaries

Eternatus will be considered a legendary Pokemon alongside Zacian and Zamazenta.
Meltan and Melmetal are also considered legendary Pokemon.


Dynamaxing

Pkmnation is not a region where Dynamaxing can occur for normal pokemon, therefore there is no Dynamaxing in Nation for normal Pokemon.

Dynamax moves however can be learned much like a Z-Move. You can teach them via TM. Your Pokemon must know the appropriate move before you use the TM in order to learn the Dynamax move. Dynamax moves cannot be taught via Jumble Berry.



Gigantamax

There are some incredibly unique and powerful Pokemon that have appeared in Nation. In their DNA they possess the ability to Gigantamax into amazing forms. Unlike in the Galar region, Nation doesn't have the power sufficient to make them literally Gigantic, so all Gigantamax Form Pokemon are relatively the same size as their previous forms. This means no skyscraper high Pokemon for Nation. That being said, these forms work a little differently here and act more like Evolution for the Pokemon.

There is now a G-Max Checker for every Pokemon. You can find feature in your inventory on the Pokemon's inventory ID number. Clicking the ID number next to the Pokemon you are checking will give you a message "This pokemon Can/Cannot GigantaMax." to let you know if your Pokemon can Gigantamax or not. Be aware that it's checking your Pokemon's current DNA Map, meaning if you change the Pokemon's DNA in some way it could lose or gain the ability to G-Max!

Changing a Pokemon's DNA would be adding an OOS item to the Pokemon, so be aware of the possibilities of G-Maxing when changing your Pokemon in some way.

If you happen to get lucky and find a G-Max Pokemon in your inventory you have the option to Evolve that Pokemon into it's G-Max form! They are strictly evolution based in Nation meaning that you must draw a reference for that G-Max approved normal Eevee and then evolve it into it's G-Max form.

After a G-Max Pokemon has evolved into it's G-Max form there is no going back, so think ahead when making the decision to G-Max into these powerful forms!

G-Max is considered a split evolution line for Pokemon with G-Max forms. This means a Charizard can chose to Mega or G-Max if it has the ability to.
Like Mega Evolution the Pokemon must be in the form apparent with the G-Max form. This means a Charmeleon cannot G-Max into a Charizard form. Only a Charizard can G-Max into a G-Max Charizard.

You cannot Species Swapper in a G-Max Pokemon.  

Exclusive G-Max moves Can Only be taught to their respective G-Max Pokemon. Example: G-Max Finale can only be taught to Gigantamax Alcremie

We are well aware of the upcoming expansion passes for new regions in Galar and potential new Galarian Forms and Pokemon. Please be aware we strictly follow Bulbapedia's Pokedex, so there will be no time frame for the addition of these new pokemon into Nation until their information is fully added into Bulbapedia. Forms are considered new pokemon, so if a new form of a pokemon is released please be aware it is not considered released into PKMNation until otherwise announced publically to the group.

As stated in the past PKMNation is a Spoiler Free Group meaning that all new expansion information, new pokemon, and new forms is strictly prohibited until released into the group officially.

Journal Updates

:new: We've done some much needed updates to all featured journals for the group. They are posted and updated as of this announcement so be sure to go through all the journals and see whats new and improved! As always if you have any questions feel free to comment on the journal, note the group, or send us a message in Ask-Mod on discord!

Multiple Body Designs Update

In reviewing the new Pokemon for Gen 8 and how they impact our group, as well as current design trends, we feel that we need to bring attention to how Pokemon with multiple bodies are represented in cross designs. We will be enforcing the requirement that each species in a cross must have adequate representation in the design more strictly, and these crosses will require more than just multiple bodies to represent the species as is common practice with Exeggcute crosses.


Generation 8 News

On to the much awaited news that we will be adding Generation 8 to the site and group next weekend!

Because the new Pokemon will have to be added to our group we are Closing the Pkmnation Website starting at 12:00am (Midnight) on Friday March 13th, 2020 est. and will be reopening it to members at 12:00 am (Midnight) Monday March 16th, 2020 est.

This closing of the site will not effect other group functions as moderators will still be able to work on the site.

There will be an accompanying announcement with the reopening of the site with all the Gen 8 information to be implemented into the group and shortly after that there will be updates in the journals to reflect the new Gen 8 information.

Remember that until that announcement is released continue using Gen 7 move pools.

Hello everyone~

There has been an update on the rules for Ditto using the move Transform in the group.
This information is now found in the F.A.Q Journal and states the following,


Q.] How does the move Transform work for Ditto in Nations?

A.] Ditto cross breeds cannot use the move Transform for levels. They have to stay in their reffed form in all images to count for levels.

Basic/Shiny/Morph/Fusion Ditto can transform into basic Pokemon that are not owned by anyone to gain levels. They will need to follow the following criteria to do this: Keep their referenced coloring and goopiness, but can be shaped after the basic Pokemon they're transforming into.

All Ditto crosses and non-crosses can still transform into Pokemon owned by you or other members. This will not give your Ditto levels, but the Pokemon the Ditto transformed into gets the levels instead.

Group Shutdown

Throughout December PKMNation is completely shutdown for the holidays! During this time only Everyday Lit and Everyday Images will be open so please wait to submit any other inquires to the group until January when we reopen. There will be a news journal on Jan. 1st when we reopen so hold off until you see it! Have a wonderful holiday!

Advent Calendar

During the month of December we release a function called the Advent Calendar where members can access the website once a day and gain an item from that days advent. It is rewarding to complete all 31 days of the advent, so remember to come back everyday and click the button at the top of your inventory after signing in! Information about the advent results will also be posted on Jan. 1st so stay tuned!

Moderator Search

Also during December this year we will be opening a Moderator Search, so if you are interested keep a lookout for that journal and reply to it before it closes for consideration to become a Nation moderator. Applications will be taken until Dec. 22nd.

Back in Business

We hope you all got some well needed rest and had a lot of summer fun during the break! All journals and folders will be reopened as of today and we also have a couple of new updates to announce as well.  

Link Center Update

- Pokemon that have no design can be linked into Nation as long as they have traits that correspond to the traits available in Nation. Any special Pokemon from another group that do not have corresponding traits will need to have an existing design in that group to be Linked in.
- Pokemon that do have designs will be checked as normal and given the corresponding traits to be in Nations. The Link Center comment should be treated like an Egg Clinic comment and linked when submitting the reference to the group.

Group Opening

We will be having a Group Opening from September 13th, 12:00 am EST to September 16th, 11:59 pm EST. Perspective members should be look through the journals and rules to get ready to join!

Hello everyone!

We have a new event that is being added to Nation, the long awaited Contest Hall! Periodically there will be a Contest Event that replaces the Monthly Theme. A new item is being added as well called Ribbon that members will have the chance to collect. The Ribbon item is obtainable for achieving 5 points in the Contests which can be traded into the market for a point value to gain items. If you place in the Top 5 of a Contest your Pokemon will also be able to obtain a Ribbon Image that you may place on their reference for show. Please look at the [Contest Hall] journal for more information.

The Delibird Market is now updated with Exchange Values for items. You will now be able to exchange unwanted items for other items using these values. Please visit the [Delibird Market] for more information.

Hello Everyone!

It’s time for some shiny and new announcements for changes we’ve been working on! Effective today our Link Center policies have changed. We will no longer require a charge for transferring Pokemon into Nation. Members will also be able to transfer Into Nation 10 Pokemon per month. This is to allow members the ability to transfer their Pokemon with more freedom. 10 transfers OUT of Nation per week will stay the same. There will also be a counter for the 10 inbound transfers per month that will reset the 1st of each month. You can view these updates in [The Link Center].

We also have an exciting new update for all those egg hoarders out there! Random and Type Specific Eggs now work like Trainer Eggs! This means that you now have a chance to get a Shiny or Morph trait out of these eggs. If that doesn’t get exciting enough stay tuned, because in the near future there will be other uses for those unwanted eggs!

Welcome back to Nation! We in the mod team hope you've all had a wonderful holiday and are ready for a whole new year of fun. This year is a very special year as it's PKMNation's 5th Birthday celebration!

In the month of January there will be a Celebration Event that we encourage everyone to participate in! You very well may take home a special prize~ For those who participated in the December Monthly Theme, you are eligible for the main prize in the Celebration Event, so thank you for participating. The event starts on Nation's birthday, Friday the 18th, so until then there won't be a normal event going on. January's Monthly Theme will follow this post very soon, though!

Please also be aware that there are some changes coming to Nation in the next few months. Please bear with us during these updates and feel free to ask any questions you might have when they occur.

Hello All,

As some of you might soon encounter, we have added a new upgraded Pokemon Roulette 2.0 to our list of items. This item, works much like the original Pokemon Roulette, with the exception of granting your a chance of hatching a Rarity. Unlike a Rarity Egg, the Rarities produced by the Pokemon Roulette 2.0 can be ANY version of ANY of the Rarities available at the time of hatching, and it is up to the owner to decide which of them it is. Hello everyone!
It’s near the holiday season again and it’s time for PKMNation’s annual Month of December Break. All folders except “everyday” will be closed until January during this time and the group will be on an official break. We ask that you please wait until January to submit any group related submissions or inquiries!
During December remember to log into the PKMNation website everyday for our annual Advent Calendar! Everyday you will receive an item, so be sure to click the Advent button each day at the top of your inventory.
Nation is doing something different this December as well. There will be a Special Monthly Theme that we encourage everyone to participate in. If you complete the December Monthly Theme’s 3 requirements then you’ll be eligible for a special prize during January’s event to celebrate Nation’s 5th birthday! Information for this Monthly Theme Event will be posted on Dec. 1st and you are free to inquire about the event in the comments of the journal.

Hello all,

So there has been some confusion and issues surrounding events, particularly with Monthly Themes. After some discussion, we have decided to make some changes:

Grace Period: We will be allowing the 24hr grace period for Monthly Themes as with other events, however, this is meant for corrections in the submission and not the image itself. Images that do not meet the submission requirements will still be considered ineligible.

Gift Levels: Additionally, effective immediately, you will be unable to claim "Gift Levels" in any event submission. This is to simplify rules and eliminate confusion, as often events grant extra levels for pokemon you don't own, and those levels don't stack with gift levels.

Rules: As always, we ask that you review the rules in their entirety before entering an event, and ask through the appropriate venues if you have any questions or concerns. While we try to do our best to make the rules easy to understand, that is not always the case; so please ask and clarify, you may not be the only one a question, and asking may help others.

To eliminate a variety of issues stemming from this, effective immediately, any event submissions containing a pokemon who does not have a reference accepted into the group at the time of processing, will be immediately denied, there will be no grace period. To prevent any issues, please make sure any pokemon  you wish to use in an event have an accepted reference sheet, before you decide to include them in your submission.
