An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings on display at that time.

"I have good news and bad news," the owner replied. "The good news is that a gentleman inquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings."

"That's wonderful," the artist exclaimed. "What's the bad news?"
"The guy was your doctor..."

It's a new year and I am very happy to finally be back on deviantART. Work and life has kept me away for too long but it's time, once again, to get inspired by all the amazing artists who make dA their home and I can't wait to start creating again. I see dA has changed just a bit since I've been away. I have a feeling it's gonna take me a bit of time to get up to speed again but I'm looking forward to it.

It's good to be back!!!

I usually don't really care about things like this but I'll have to admit that finally reaching 10,000 pageviews seems like a nice little accomplishment... I remember how long it took me to just get a thousand. However, I have a long way to go to catch up to the deviants that have 250,000 or 500,000 or even a million or more!

Next stop... 100,000!

It's been almost a year since I've been on deviantART and I have missed the experience a lot. Now I have to get familiar with things again and by the looks of it... a lot has changed but it's nice to be back.

My unexpected vacation started on the weekend of Feb 9th (my Birthday)... I just decided to take a little break from the computer and get some much needed outdoor time. The sun felt really good shining down on my face as I realized that I really need to get out more. ...but my time outside would be short-lived.

I received a Xbox 360 as a gift the week following my B-day and I have been in front of my new HDTV for the last 2 weeks playing some of the games I've missed out on over the last couple of years. Let me just say, games look really, really incredible in HD. Call Of Duty 4, Bioshock and Mass Effect, to name a few, were all incredibly fun and beautiful to look at.

Now that the "new toy" fun has worn off... I'm back to my old habits of creating art and spending my free time here on deviantART... with the occasional game session somewhere in between. (Note to self: Remember to go outside!)

While I was away over the last 3 weeks, I have over 100 new messages, a handful of notes and over 200 new deviations to look at. I will be getting to all of your messages over the next few days... but for now... thanks to all of you for the comments and the favorites.

One final thought... for any of you that have Xbox Live... my gamertag is: PixelChemist

Happy New Year to all, I hope this year proves to be the best ever for you. The last year went by way too fast so my resolution for this year is to take my time and focus on slowing down and enjoying life more.

I'm finally a subscriber here on :devart: and it's about time... no more ads! (jumps up and down with joy) Now, I just have to figure out the whole CSS journal thing and all the other features I can access.

I'll be cleaning up and organizing my gallery over the next week or so... thanks to the new gallery features. I'm not looking forward to it but it needs to be done. Also, I have a bunch of stuff that I need to post to my scraps area.

I'm looking forward to what I think is going to be the best year so far here on deviantART!

For those who would like to start creating artwork in 3D... I recommend playing with some of the free programs out there just to get a feel for it. Over at the ZBrush forums they have a posting that started in 2003 with a listing of more free programs than you'll know what to do with.

See the posting here:… ...I would recommend skipping to the last page and working backward since some of the links in the beginning no longer work but it's an excellent resource.

For professional programs, I highly recommend...
Cinema 4D:…

I believe all of the professional programs have trial versions or "personal learning editions" which you can try out for free.

That should be more than enough to get started. If anybody has any questions... don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck to all! :-)

I started a stock page here on deviantART to try and give a little something back to this absolutely wonderful community that I love so much.

NOTE: Nothing on this page or in my personal gallery is considered stock, so please don't use anything from here.

Summer is just about over and I have had just about enough of this heat... I feel like a "toasted cheeser". :D

I have spent the last few months working more and more on my photo-manipulation skills and as always, trying new techniques all the time. I have a bunch of new artwork that I will be posting over the next week.

Thanks to all of you that have left positive comments and critique... it's much appreciated.

...and to everyone who continues to offer amazing stock photos, brushes and textures... THANK YOU!!!

I've just finished 3-4 months of mind-numbing work and I am so glad to have a much needed break and to be able to focus on some of the funner things in life such as deviantART!

There have been so many fantastic artworks posted since I've been gone, I hope to be able to see them all.

dA seems to be working much better than the last time I checked in, I'm hoping it will last.

It's good to be back!

Wow!... I need to attend a group meeting of "dAA"...that's deviantART Anonymous.

I am addicted to this site, or so my friends say, as I am always browsing for new images no matter what hour of the day or night, since there is always something cool to find and I'm afraid I might miss something. Spending countless hours every night posting comments on stunningly beautiful images by seemingly unknown but extremely talented artists and photographers. The worst of all is skipping work and dates with gorgeous women so I can post new artwork in the hope that someday I might be considered "popular" or even be honored with the completely illusive "daily deviation".

Okay, I made that last one up but I do need help, or so my friends say... maybe dA detox or a rehab clinic. Wait!... What am I talking about... I love this place, they can have my dA when they pry it from my cold dead fingers! I wish I could get dA in pill form or even suck it up into a syringe and shoot it directly into my veins. Ahhh... cool.... sweet... intoxicating... deviantART!
I've just learned that Steve Irwin, the man known as the "Crocodile Hunter" has died. I'm still hoping this is a hoax but I don't think it is.

I truly loved watching his shows on Animal Planet, they were always interesting, humorous and exciting and I always learned something new that I probably wouldn't have learned if it hadn't been for him and his style of "edutainment".

I want to believe that he died doing what he loved so passionately. He was one in a million and will be surely be missed. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Greetings to all,

I am happy to finally be an actual member of deviantART. I have been lurking here for about 4-5 years and I thought it was finally about time to submit some of my artwork and become a part of this great community. Can you say PROCRASTINATION!?!

It will take me awhile to actually get a decent gallery online, so please be patient... although there's no shortage of great artwork around here. Most of the artists here are so incredibly talented that I find myself wondering whether I should keep this up or look for another line of work. It's both inspiring and depressing at the same time.

...but I love what I do and I really enjoy the challenge of getting better each and everyday.

Keep up the great work everybody!
