With the coming Hallowe'en season, it's once again time for the large orange gourds that scream out to be carved.

I just may have bitten off more than I can chew this time around though. I have agreed to at least two live, public demonstration carves and it also looks as though my ideas may just be larger than my energy reserves! Bought an almost 90lb or 41kg pumpkin while visiting a farm yesterday and should never rely on my estimated weight guess when thinking about what could be done with it. I swear... it looked a lot smaller in the farm yard than it does in front of my door! That pumpkin somehow doubled its size and weight in the 45 min it took to get it home!

Just a warning... The following may to totally incomprehensible!

AARRGGHHH... Tis the day for all pirates to expose themselves to public ridicule! This be the dawning of a new age for all scurvy dogs, upon the seas or no. Grab yer wench, a large flagon of steaming hot grog and swing from the yardarm! Keelhaul all thine enemies and tax collectors, sing out-of-tune drinking songs with your mates and tattoo the jolly roger in a conspicuous place for tomorrow is another day and... um, uh oh...oh shit...that's a real tattoo on my forehead! Last time I get my grog from Billy-Bob!

It's just one after another. I don't know how I survive all the excitement.

I 'was' about to enter a few pieces into a gallery show until I went to get some frame pricing. Since I won't accept garbage materials in framing, I almost required a call to 911 (emergency services) once the framer presented the price. I wasn't going for gold plated or anything out beyond an ordinary acid-free double matted and glazed wood frame. Maybe it's just been too long since I last purchased framing but the last time I ordered framing for images this size it was well under $200. This time it was considerably over double the price I last paid. Once I pay for the printing, the gallery entry fee, THE FRAMING, and the gallery commission, in order for me to make anything at all on the one photograph I would have to charge about $700.00. Even at that price the framer and the gallery, are making far more than I am. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

To make this story a lot shorter and to keep my blood pressure to a minimum... the gallery show is out, out, out!

It's no wonder that nobody is buying decent creative works and I am not selling anything.

I want to take a minute to thank everyone that replied to my request in the last Journal. All 2 of you!

The response was about double what I thought it might be, and that avalanche of input was what I needed in order to make a decision on whether I add much more to this page, or even allow everything to remain the way it is.

There will be changes, and for that I will have to offer early appologies to the thousands of PixelBlender fans that are virtually collecting everything as soon as it is posted. Those collections will now be a unique addition to future Antiques Roadshow revelations that your personal collection is worthless. Hey... I never promised that you could retire early on my work. I have a hard enough time giving it away let alone selling it.

Anyway, a thining will occur sometime shortly and the rate of submissions appearing will be greatly reduced.

Thanks for all the input guys!
