Welcome to Pixel-Topia!!! A growing community and home for pixel art of all colors, shapes and sizes. Here's the rules and how to get started! ![]() ![]() It's simple just click the join this group button! You don't have to be able to make pixel art to become a member, you can just be a fan. As a member you can submit art, earn extra faves and watches through our community. you will also have the opportunity to attend future contests set up for fans and artists alike. ![]() Only submit up to 5 a day. no gallery pouring please. To submit a piece, hit the contribute button and submit to the folder category that your art fits best. (We do accept some art that is not pixel as long as it is some form of a 2D sprite). You can submit to any of the following folders except for "featured": ~Scenes and Scapes ~characters and animals ~Objects and Buildings ~Emotes ~Misc ~Dolls ~tutorials and bases ~icons and avatars ~Pixel Drawings ![]() Not everything is accepted into pixel-topia. Though we are very lenient on what we accept as pixel art, there is a bar we have to make and that is determined by our admins when reviewing a piece. We do not accept "copies" of other peoples work. you can use other peoples work in your piece such as basses and reference images but you have to change it enough so that it is uniquely your own. Same thing goes with fan art, it must not be a copy of an already existing fan art picture in any way or it must be done in a style that is uniquely your own. We will also accept more mature themes; nudity is accepted as long as there is a mature filter on the work. Please, no porn. Works that are submitted to featured are chosen by us and cannot be submitted directly into the featured folder by the artist. At the end of every week, We will carefully evaluate all the work in our gallery folders and chose 3 of the best pieces to be submitted to featured. Here are some key points to consider for successful artwork that goes "above and beyond". Just like in a critique, we look for: Vision – Does the artwork present or reflect a point of view, theme or idea? Originality – Is the artwork fresh or new in its style, execution or approach? Is it something you haven’t seen before in its particular genre? Does it surprise you? Technique – Was the artwork skillfully created? Does the artist exhibit advanced knowledge of the medium and/or bring special focus to the craft of the medium used. Impact – Does the artwork resonate with you or evoke strong emotions? Does it make you think? is it funny? Does it blow your mind? etc. We judge fairly without any influence of personal preferences and because we are a relatively small group, we are a little more lenient on what gets into featured. Almost everything is accepted into the gallery but if your work is not accepted into featured at the end of the week don't let it get you down. A lot of the people who make it into featured have been doing pixel art for a long time. Just keep trying, never slow down and follow the guidelines above for your next pieces. ![]() *If you have questions or think we voted unfairly, please let us know. ![]() Here at Pixel-Topia, we are trying our best to provide community that not only helps members make new friends and earn notoriety, but also a fun and memorable environment.
