Four days ago plane carrying President Kaczyński, his wife Maria Kaczyńska and other members of a Polish delegation were travelling from Warsaw to commemorate the Katyn massacre, crashed while approaching Smolensk Air Base in Russia. 96 people were killed in the crash, including many of Poland's highest military leaders, senators, politics, members od "Katyn's families" and a cabin crew.
This is an unbelievable tragedy. We lost our leader. What makes this even more bitter is the fact that the plane crash happened exactly 70 years after the Katyn Massacre, where Soviet murdered in 1940 - over 21 000 Polish officers. Our president intended to commemorate that tragedy, but instead he died on the very same day and on the same land.
Katyn took another lifes.
