thank you! I used Quantum GIS to get most of the coastline and the rivers and later exported it to Inkscape. The relief I got from Natural Earth. Than I imported it to Quantum GIS to give it the right map projection. Getting the relief into Inkscape is a bit tricky, Quantum GIS is not good at exporting large bitmaps. So I had to export several smaller relief maps (around the size of Turkey) and add them together in paint.NET before importing it to Inkscape and later exporting it together with the vector layers.
