Description

I posted this earlier, but I think this picture shows off the colors better.
'Here's another leathal weapon from the laboratory of
Professor Otrebor Zednanref. Don't let the beauty of this saber fool you. This weapon was used to assainate the king of Paz. His lovely concubine Fena cut him down in a brutal act of treason. She later abandoned the weapon and dissassembled it to remove the evidence. She didn't have the heart to destroy it though. It is curently being reassembled and readorned. Fena loved the arts and art nouveau especially, so her weapon was done in this classic style. The hilt will have some sort of art nouveau design-much like Rene Lalique or Tiffany would have used.
Here is a bit more of the story: Well Fena was raised by a band of nomads who lived in the waistlands of Paz. Paz was a tiny planet in a distant quadrant that had gone unoticed until recently when small quantities of rare metal ores had been found with time altering properties. The king of Paz tried desparately to keep his planet off the radar, but word had leaked out of it's vast underground caches of these rare and valueable metals. The nomads who raised Fena were paid handsomely by a rogue troop of Jafrian looters. They were very cautious not to do the dirty work themselves. The nomads were more than happy to assist in the plot.
Now it's important to note that Fena had been blessed with unmatched beauty and therefore she was groomed in the nomad ways to be deceptive and charming. She was presented to the king of Paz as a peace token. Once she won the kings favor she would be ready to make the kill and the nomads could create an uprising and overtake the kingdom. Once the kingdom was controlled, they could control the ores being mined there. The Jafrian renegades could then move in and take over control of the mining.
Fena, having finished her dirty work of assasinating the king, quickly disassembled the saber and stashed the parts in a chest which she left in the care of her maid servant Banu. She didn't want the weapon traced back to her, so Fena left the kingdom in mourning and never returned. She would keep in contact with Banu from time to time and Banu kept the weapon under guard for her for many years until Fena's death. Banu then entrusted the chest to the secret society of industrialist who had origianlly maufactured the weapon. They in turn presented the chest to their leader Professor Zednanref Otrebor (myself) who has been reassembling vintage weapons most of his professional career. He was able to locate the original blueprints and restore the weapon to it's original state.
That being said, this story was just manufactured off the top of my head. I hope you enjoyed it. It adds a certain mystique to the weapons if they have a story line behind them. Anyway, I enjoyed thinking it up. No ones ever asked me for a story line before, but since you asked, there you have it.
The construction of these weapons is a trade secret, but I can tell you that it started off as a microphone and other odd pieces of metal, plastic, and leather. Everything is hand painted, because I enjoy painting and I feel it gives the piece more character. It is a one of a kind. The finish was extremely difficult to achieve since I didn't use an airbrush. I used several differnt shades of spray paints. This was a new technique for me. I've wrapped the carrying ring in vintage copper wire, which has a reddish tone to it. That too, was a labor of love. Professor Zednanref Otrebor
